Sweetbrier, YOUR post brought me to tears! I'm probably ten years your junior and was raised an army brat, moving from place to place with my father gone so much. He died in Vietnam when I was eight. But that's not what really "got to me." It is that I'm a mom of four, ages 10-28, a wide spread, and have watched their world become less and less like that of the days when meticulous things were practiced. I know it's a great new tech world, and we'll have to settle for faster, wider and expanded worlds...but there is something to be said for building dollhouse furniture, keeping journals that age and wear and can be held in your hands....and even things like practicing your cursive, which is hardly taught in schools any more. Not many posts on Houzz "haunt" me, but I know I'll be thinking about his beautiful little girl all day today as I buzz around the traffic of Atlanta. And also your post. Very, very special, thank you!

The craftsmanship on the cabinets and floor is impeccable. The detail on many things is just amazingly beautiful!
