I applaud the ingenuity of the people using original materials - would have thought that the room with the grand piano cried out for a sheet music backdrop, though - and I love Spisch's reading nook! However, I'm not crafty or handy enough to do this, so we've been considering the "news wallpaper" route for our office, having found one which uses 1950s front pages. Surprised not to see more examples of this style used in offices/studies as this seems to be the obvious use for them. Now I just need to find an old Remington typewriter to display against our "news wall"!

Wallpaper means having to put it up "properly". I like the idea of the freedom of just gluing up pages of whatever you choose. A lot less costly as well. Just be sure to prime the wall so you can take the paper off when the time comes.
