Redhill Painting

qofmiwok, Paint companies don't actually dilute the paint when they give you a half strength. They actually only shoot 1/2 the formula in there. So if there was originally 2 parts red, 4 parts green when you request a 1/2 formula you get 1 part red and 2 parts green.

Yes, but don't ask for half strength if a 2x 3x or 4x base as it does dilute the quality of the paint. There is a ratio of pigment to base for every color. And since the white base is dead and cold white, you are not averaging in how that white will adjust the color anyway. Color may look yellow green and as you add white, it gets more "mint". It is especially tricky with neutrals and tertiary colors, as at each value on the strip the formula can change pigments. Don't guess, choose the visual from an offered color chip. Paint is not just color, it has guidelines of its own. Ask a pro.
