Designer Carly Gockeler of KraftMaster Renovations helped a busy New Jersey family double the size of its kitchen by taking over an unused adjacent playroom space.
Using the owners’ Houzz ideabook selections as her guide, she created a modern farmhouse look with a rustic alder island base, a wood shiplap range hood and X details on some of the Shaker-style soft gray cabinets (Repose Gray by Sherwin-Williams). She also tucked in a built-in banquette at the back of the room to create an inviting breakfast area.
