loriley - sorry for the late reply: the chute is about 10" by 18". I thought it was too small when it was built, but it's actually just fine. Nothing has gotten stuck! The only thing I don't put down it are blankets, but we wash them so infrequently that it's no big deal. Sheets, towels, and everything else drop down no problem.
