I'm thinking of using them under my new linear contemporary fireplace, and under a console table. I also love the idea of using them as coffee table base.

To those who worry about there sturdiness please not that they were used outside in the winter in China. They are open on the bottom so you could place a brick or stone, heated in a fire, under them. Many a bottom has been warmed by the brick and stool combination. I have several but have not tried that out myself. They are infinitely adaptable indoors or outside.
