My visitors are welcomed with real warmth, and my apartment is kid-friendly and enjoyed by my grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and their friends who sometimes accompany them. They are all thoughtful and gracious enough to take their shoes off when they come in so we can limit our exposure to the insecticides, fertilizers, gasoline residue and other chemicals that our shoes come into contact with daily. I am not concerned about dirt, but the noxious chemicals our shoes pick up and then deposit on carpets -- where children play -- are a different matter altogether.

I noted that the things the kids most enjoyed were activities that you did as a family together. The rest is just fluff.
