I just planted a small cherry tree for Arbor Day in a pot on my patio. Today were having the mother of all snowstorms, so I'm not sure it's going to survive this weather. I was warned not to plant anything in Santa Fe until after May 15!

Leslie, put plastic or burlap over it till the storm is over and warmer weather. It just needs a little heat barrier. Plastic is like a greenhouse.

Excellent article! I have been planning on adding shade-loving plants under my blue spruce tree to keep it healthy. Any suggestions on what plants would make a good “living mulch”?
