DAVID RAMSAY, Cabinetmakers

Anything similar can be done for any room. There are two components to any solution: a) the size and configuration of physical enclosure, which depends on the dimensions and door operations of the washer and dryer and b) the style of the cabinetry, which would depend on the surroundings or your personal preference of style, finish, color, etc.. We do not have stock cabinetry for washer and dryers, all of our work is custom designed and built uniquely for each client.

I for 13 years I have been hacking my frontload washer by adding water through the detergent dispenser with gallon-size water bottles. My laundry is clean, the washer smells great and the clean washer signal never came on again. I will be remodeling my laundry area and adding a hose to my laundry sink so I can add water directly to the washer.

Shanandee—you should not have to add water to your front loader in addition to what is used in the cycles. My clothes come out very clean—much cleaner than in my top loader, but with much less water. I DO use an extra rinse to ensure all the detergent is rinsed. It is more than adequate and even without the extra rinse, my clothes are wonderfully clean. Front losers have significantly improved in the last 13 years.
