I grew up on a farm with a 1500' grass airstrip, raised by my bachelor dad, an antique aircraft buff who built and flew his own airplanes, five of them over the years. When my youngest sister, his baby girl, married, Dad gave over the home place to her and built new lodgings for himself across the driveway. In order to avoid subdivision zoning, the new construction was officially permitted as an aircraft hangar and office, with a bathroom.. The 'office' In the front end of the actual hangar comprised a bedroom and bathroom, closet/utility area, and a small kitchen/dining room. When Dad wanted to go somewhere, he had a choice: he could open one back door to the attached garage, get in his car, and drive off down the lane, OR he could open the other door to the attached hangar, get in his plane, and taxi on down his runway. It was nothing as elegant (or costly) as this couple's beautiful home, but it suited a brilliant, cheerful, eccentric bachelor farmer quite nicely.

love best the concrete base which shows as a "half" wall inside the home. Overall a bright airy and unique design
