I really appreciate seeing so many restful, well thought out designs, as all I can think looking around my yard, is how many projects I have yet to do. I think I need to simplify and take all the things that reseed in my paths and everywhere and put them in big patches like this. I have trouble weeding perfectly good plants that reseed out, so I have a really unruly property (lots of stuff like raspberries overtaking part of the veggie garden). I think it's great emphasizing big shapes of the landscape and really appreciate the idea of how to blend things with the house. Thanks for another inspiring article!

A quite spot to rest your eyes or to lead you further. For some reason one of last months' installations really resonated with this idea. A tiny front yard abutting other tiny yards seemed to call for just such a spot and I am glad that my clients trusted my idea. The picket fence isn't in yet in this photo, but hopefully each time they enter or exit, this tiny gesture will be enjoyed however briefly.
