Something else to note: The author comments on the floors by saying:

I always put 15-pound tar paper down to protect the floor from any water that does get through.

Let me tell you from experience. I always use this method on all hardwood floors no matter where they are. It cuts down on squeaking and provides that protection, house-throughout and is always a good idea, wet rooms or not.

I'm so glad I found this article! I am doing a small bathroom reno myself and really didn't want to mess around with drywall if I didn't have to. It's a small bathroom and if something goes wrong I can start again without too much pain. Tongue and groove walls, here I come!
