Thank you so much for including so many photographs of my companies past work in Brazilian mahogany. Being based in England where we design and hand make all our work whether National or International, we cannot obtain mahogany as it is a banned timber import. We now use Sepele as an alternative, when we have a project that requires a mahogany look/finish whether it is due to the clients wishes or a refurbishment project such as a grade 1 or 2 listed property.

Do look at the attached images of a kitchen we designed and made in Sepele with striking flamed, burred and rippled Brazilian mahogany veneered panels with modern Gaggenau appliances and limestone worktops. It is something most people either love or hate! But we specialise in the custom designed and hand made so that is fine, every project is unique to each client!

This room was destroyed by Sandy, but a lovely use of mahogany. Mahogany also looks great as an island top.

I would be interested in the hardness ratings of mahogany compared to other woods (Brinnell values or other systems).
