Lion Windows and Doors

The profile of the countertops is a big one! Homeowners often overlook that one.

One very important lesson we learned the hard way and after the fact is that a rendering is only a rendering. It doesn't take into consideration where wall studs are located.

In our case, one end of a cabinet run, the countertop, the soffit/lighting, and change to a wall didn't align as rendered. It's all been remedied but it was a source of angst for a while. This can affect outlet and other placements as well.

Because the contractors and/or the designer proceeded without communicating the findings as work progressed, these were frequent "surprises" when we came home from work. Honestly, I didn't go back and look at our contract to see if this disclaimer was mentioned.

Lion - absolutely - and with different products there are different implications - I couldn't get a full bull nose with natural stone without a lot more cost where with Zodiac quartz I could get that on the counter edge and the inside edge of the sink at no extra cost. And back slash costs were significantly different as well.

The devil is in the details and the fine print.
