> I have worked with Mary Alyce on many projects over the last 15 years and have had an outstanding experience every time. I moved into my Saratoga home 14 years ago. We started with a complete overhaul of my kitchen, and to this day it remains current and looks as good as any luxury Showcase home I walk through. We also built a dark mahogany library which she tirelessly designed and it's positively my husbands favorite room in the house! She also helped with the design of my pool cabana, which has a small kitchen as well. We are currently designing a bar for my lake house. She has the most extensive product knowledge and creative design ability, I wouldn't choose to work with anyone else.

> Mary Alyce Evans owner of Designer's Studio, was instrumental in designing 2 kitchens for us. One for our home constructed in 1996 and another one in 2016. We were so pleased with the work she completed on our first home we had to have her back 20 years later. Mary Alyce has impeccable taste, tremendous sense of style and flair. Her kitchen design abilities make the kitchen the center of the home.

**Comment from Mary Alyce Evans:**

> Thank you, Megan. You are such a pleasure to work for.

> We could not have been happier with the services provided by Designer's Studio. We were renovating an old beach cottage that had many design challenges. The change in ceiling height was particularly difficult for cabinetry and yet beautifully resolved with creative design. Mary Alyce's advice from style of cabinetry to hardware was always spot on. She was patient, helpful, and so very fun to work with. We love Designer's Studio!

> Mary Alyce Evans helped us through a complicated but very successful renovation project. My husband and I had sought a professional to help us envision options for transforming our kitchen, family room and side entrance for many months but we were stalled by what seemed like insurmountable spatial issues. Mary Alyce was the first designer we met to come up with solutions that were creative, responsive to our design ideas and that led to the inviting contemporary addition we now enjoy.
>
> Mary Alyce is great to work with. She can think outside the box and has a wonderful sense of design. She listens and offers alternatives. She is candid. I loved that she would share preferences but not impose her opinion. And her knowledge, skill and commitment to our project enabled us to create a cook’s kitchen that is beautiful as well as functional. Our family and friends love to be in our kitchen and so do I. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

> Two years ago we decided to renovate our home in Saratoga Springs. We visited several kitchen and bath stores in the area, but none of them appealed to us. These shops did not show a lot of original thought regarding the design process. Then we remembered that Mary Alyce Evans of Designers’ Studio has always been one of the premier designers in the area, so we contacted her regarding our project.
>
> Mary Alyce is one of the most talented designers we have ever met, and it is no wonder that she has such a highly regarded reputation. She has a flair for developing designs that fit her clients’ personalities. Not only can she produce a beautiful design, but she will also ensure that it is a functional design that works for you—and she can do this for a wide range of budgets.
>
> Of course, Mary Alyce has her own preferred style and color palette, but she also has the exceptional ability to understand and be sensitive to the client’s style and to provide input that is consistent with that style. However, she does this while being ready and willing to ensure that the client does not make any design faux pas.
>
> Mary Alyce also brings to the table another valuable asset. Because of her years of design experience, she has a wealth of contractor, supplier, and skilled trade contacts. She can connect you with general contractors who will do the entire project or skilled people who can do any individual task in a renovation project. It is like having your own personal referral service that will provide you with a pre-approved list of professionals. This goes a long way toward taking some of the uncertainty and worry out of any renovation project.
>
> Based on our experience, if you are looking for a designer in the Capital Region of New York, we would highly recommend that you visit Designers‘ Studio and speak with Mary Alyce or one of her team. You will not be sorry that you did.

> I've known Mary Alyce for 23 years and we have worked together as co-designers on both kitchen and bath projects. Not only I but also her clients find her a pleasure to partner with - she is thoughtful, listens well, is patient and detailed, and creative in arriving at design solutions. Indeed she is a superb designer - comfortable in traditional and contemporary/modern styles, architectural details, proportion, and interior design ...all with sensibilities for balancing function, aesthetics, and budget.
>
> Mary Alyce's clients, many of whom have worked with her on multiple projects, respect and trust her, as do I. I recommend her with total confidence and welcome all opportunities to team with her.

**★★★★★ — NLR Properties, LLC, Dec. 2014**

> In 2014, I had the privilege of working together with Mary Alyce and the Designers' Studio team on several exquisite kitchen and bathroom renovation projects. Mary Alyce is an amazingly creative designer with a rare talent for designing spaces that match peoples lifestyles and personal tastes. It was an absolute pleasure to work with a professional with such dedication and attention to detail and I highly recommend Designers' Studio to anyone seeking extraordinary results and attention to detail.

> Designers' Studios head designer, Mary Alyce Evans, brings kitchen and bath design to life with her artistic renderings. A seasoned professional, Ms. Evans is able to draw upon years of experience in creating beautiful kitchens and baths, while helping the client with practical and budget concerns.

> I live in Westchester and worked long distance with Michele Ahl on two bathrooms in Saratoga. I used a contractor she suggested, Michele worked side by side with Daryl and took on the job like it was her own home. Not only are the bathrooms exquisite but Michele finished them down to the last and smallest design detail. They looked like they were staged for the stars! I hope the studio posts pictures on their website because words cannot describe how beautiful my bathrooms came out. Michele goes above and beyond anything you could ever imagine from a designer. If you want to be 100%++ thrilled with your kitchen or bath design, go no further than Designers' Studio. Betsy MacDermott-Duffy

> We worked with Mary Alyce for the first time about a year ago, when we decided to redo our Master Bath. The experience was so effortless and the result was so beautiful, that there was no question who we would work with when we decided to redo our other 3 baths as well as a complete kitchen remodel this winter.
>
> Mary Alyce is respectful of your ideas, sensitive to your budget, and offers years of experience when working on your project. She has absolutely beautiful taste, wonderful relationships with installers and trades people, and an outstanding reputation for being the top kitchen and bath designer in the area - and beyond. Your end result will be more than you expected, on budget and on time.

**★★★★★ — Amy DeLuca Interiors, Jan. 2013**

> I have know Mary Alyce Evans for 20 plus years as an exceptional kitchen and bath designer and a resource on anything that involves a kitchen or a bathroom. I learn so much when collaborating on design projects with her and find her greatest talent is her eye for detail and her knowledge of what makes a kitchen work efficiently while also being aesthetically pleasing.
>
> Design meetings with her are well organized and she maintains good communication with clients to bring the project in on schedule. Her installers and trades people are talented and loyal to her so installations run smoothly.
>
> Over the years, she has earned an outstanding professional reputation and has deservedly been published in high end trade and design magazines.
>
> Her kitchen and bath designs are works of art and having her on your team makes the process a joy!

> Mary Alyce Evans is an extremely talented and creative designer. She was referred to me by a neighbor whose kitchen I love. We had a difficult spacing situation and by creatively opening some wall and moving a doorway Mary Alyce designed the perfect spaces for our kitchen, family room and dining room. The kitchen cabinets have beautiful details and are laid out perfectly. She custom designed the TV wall cabinet around my husband's extensive audio equipment - when needed it is all hidden behind beautiful cabinetry. Our first floor bathroom is gorgeous as well. Although a small space it now has a lot of functional but beautiful storage and a great shower.
>
> Mary Alyce is currently working on designs for our two remaining bathrooms. Our master bathroom suite design is great and again she had to work with odd spaces. I cannot wait to see it completed. I love living in the spaces she creates!

## Community Q&A

**Q: Cabinets** *(in Photo Questions)*

I was hoping you could tell me more about the cabinets, island, and granite. Are the cabinets butternut wood or another wood stained with butternut stain? (Is there a stain on them?) Are these cabinets custom to your area or are they available throughout the US? If so, who makes them? What is the granite used here? I am absolutely in love with this space you've created. Thank you for sharing.

A: No problem at all. Please let me know if you need any other information. Good luck with your project!

**Q: what is the countertop material?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: The island counter is a natural quartzite called White Macaubus.

**Q: Dishes** *(in Photo Questions)*

Where are the dishes and cups from, please?

A: They are Portmeirion Botanic Garden. I'm unsure where to purchase them, I'm sure you can do a search and they'll show up.

**Q: countertop** *(in Photo Questions)*

material and color?

A: Thanks John

**Q: Bar stools** *(in Photo Questions)*

Love the stools. Who makes the bar stools? Or where were they purchased?

A: The bar stools most likely came from Old Brick Furniture. Pam Dorwin of Dorwin Associates was the interior designer responsible for the stools.

**Q: What are the dimensions of the island please ?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: The island is 115' x 48".
