A: Great question...because the ceiling beams and paneling below the wainscoting are not wood but drywall. It is a very inexpensive way to give the wood paneling and beam look. The only wood is the crown at the beams, applied molding below the chair rail and the chair itself. Then the important thing is to have the dry wall contractor spay those areas smooth and use glossy paint ILO matt to make those areas look like wood.
