### Reviews

**★★★★★ — info@susancorrydesign.com, July 2025**

> We just finished a landscaping project with Form LA and couldn't be happier. As an interior designer, I've been "following" them for more than a decade, so I was thrilled when we were able to hire them to redo our front yard.
>
> They presented wonderful designs that we never would have dreamed of on our own, and the actual installation was virtually flawless. Unlike some contractors, they were on site \*every\* day, and everyone on their crew was friendly, courteous, and professional. Most importantly, the quality of their work is top notch.
>
> We highly recommend them!

**★★★★★ — baileyspirit, April 2023**

> We’ve had the pleasure of hiring and working with the FormLA team over the past year as they have teamed with us to create a new landscape design for our property as well as performing bi-weekly landscape maintenance for our existing yard.
>
> We’ve found the team at FormLA to be creative, thorough, flexible, and thoughtful. We’ve loved working with Cassy and her team. They were able to come up with a great phased landscape redevelopment process to take into account the new garage and house addition we are constructing on our property.
>
> Through the years we have worked with many companies, but FormLA stands out above all the rest as by far the most professional and thorough. Designer Isara Ongwiseth has been able to answer our seemingly unending questions patiently and thoroughly, and has incorporated our suggestions and preferences into a landscape design that we absolutely love. We are very happy that they were able to incorporate many of our favorite existing plants into the new design as well.
>
> The FormLA gardening maintenance crew is by far the best we have ever hired. Not only are they consistent, professional, and thorough, but they often go above and beyond what we were expecting. JT Wilkinson and his group are really easy to work with and great at staying in communication about any issues that come up – a refreshing change from most gardeners we have hired in the past. And as an extra bonus: They use an electric leaf blower instead of the contemptible gas-guzzling, environmentally-damaging, noisy traditional gas-powered equipment!

**★★★★★ — Barbara Knighton, Dec. 2020**

> Cassy and Kirk have assembled and inspired a remarkable and skilled team of people to create garden spaces that harmonize with the needs of the local wildlife including the resident humans. My project involved a complete renovation of my back yard to install a meadow, a swale, plantings, pathways, a patio and pergola. Phase two was the installation of plantings to control erosion along steep slopes in the front yard. Isara Ongwiseth was the talented designer. John Cook was the excellent construction manager. The construction crews and the maintenance crews are skilled and knowledgeable. The support staff in the office even send out cheerful notes along with the change orders and invoices!
> I was very impressed with the communication, the responsiveness and the resiliency to adapt to changes whether it was tweaks to the design, installing additional drainage in response to a torrential downpour mid-project, or incorporating safety measures to protect the crew throughout the Covid 19 pandemic.
> My project was installed in the tumultuous year of 2020 and has been a daily oasis of serenity and solace for me. Thank you FormLA!

**Comment from FormLA Landscaping:**

> Thank you Barbara! We are so tickled you find solace and serenity in your garden! Thank you for cheering our team with your review. Your note would have fueled us in any year... this year, we clung to the kindness.

**★★★★★ — Lorraine Lerner, Nov. 2020**

> We decided to redo and enlarge our backyard which included the pool, adding hardscape/landscaping and installing a She Shed. We interviewed at least 6 companies before we decided to work with FormLA Landscaping. We chose them for their vision of what the space could be while offering ideas on water conservation and fire protection. Isara Ongwiseth was the landscape designer. His plan was great on paper and even better in reality. We are so glad we selected them. Every step of the process was outlined so there were no hidden costs. Each week, John Cook sent a list of activities to be completed so we knew what to expect. His expertise and can do attitude goes a long way during a project of this scope. Their crew is reliable, respectful of the property and very skilled. We started our project in February before the arrival of Covid. Our project was delayed due to companies shutting down to comply with Covid work expectations. NOTE: They did not miss a beat in delivering our project with only a delay amounting to the time they had to close down. We love our backyard and feel we have added over 2500 square feet of usable space to our property. We are in the yard every day, enjoying ourselves. Our yard welcomes our family with open arms. Priceless. We are using the maintenance arm of FormLA monthly. JT and his crew (Jessie and Robert) are very attentive and proactively managing our landscaping. Thank you to Cassy and Kirk Aoyagi for the joy you and your team brought to us.

**Comment from FormLA Landscaping:**

> Wow, Lorraine, thank you! We are so happy you enjoy your place and grateful for your patience and kindness as we navigated restrictions. Jesse, Robert, JT, JC and Isara - all of us glowed reading this!

**★★★★★ — Teresa Mackey, Oct. 2020**

> A few years ago I set out to find a company to transform my backyard. My experience working with Cassy, Kirk, John and Eric was amazing and still is! My mostly unusable backyard (and front) was transformed into a space of peace and tranquility. Everyday I watch bee's, butterflies and bird's fluttering about enjoying the plants as much as me. Little did I know their vision for my yard included being sensitive to fire safety. Defensible landscaping that holds so much beauty. On going they are my maintenance company. Oscar and JT are very responsive to any request I have as are the fellows who execute the work. Having a team that knows what they are doing gives me peace of mind that my investment is in very good hands.

**Comment from FormLA Landscaping:**

> Teresa, Thank you so much for the words of confidence. We are so happy that the yard has brought you so much joy!!

**★★★★★ — Paul Rabinov, April 2017**

> Great people doing great work! My wife and I had a wonderful experience working with FormLA to completely re-landscape our home with California natives. From planning and design to implementation the entire experience was positive. We'll absolutely recommend them to anyone who cares about the environment, and wants their property to look the best!

**Comment from FormLA Landscaping:**

> Hi Paul, Thank you both for sharing your wonderful vision with us, I'm so happy we could work together! Best, Cassy

**★★★★★ — Jeanie Kay, Jan. 2017**

> Form LA redid our front yard in 2008, and our now- fabulous back yard in 2015. They also do the monthly maintenance. We could not be happier with how great everything looks. Yes it was expensive, but our home is worth the quality work!

**Comment from FormLA Landscaping:**

> Hi Jeanie,
> You are one of my forever heroes, thank you for all the wonderful things you do in the world!! It is a pleasure to be able to know you and work with you!

**★★★★★ — Jon Fimbres, Jan. 2017**

> We are very pleased with the garden and yard design created by FormLA for our home. The FormLA Team improved our front and back yards with new layout and plantings. The Team is very professional and knowledgable. Recently (after we completed construction on an addition to the house), the FormLA Team designed a sunken patio with water feature that integrated into their original design of the backyard and complimented the new construction perfectly. We very much enjoy the environment created by FormLA for our home.

**Comment from FormLA Landscaping:**

> Thank you Jon for the nice remarks. I love how you have been so thoughtful about preserving the architecture in all of you've done with your home, it's beautiful!!

**★★★★★ — Vickie Taylor, Jan. 2017**

> Cassy and the FormLA team helped us transform our grass-and-birch-tree- heavy-landscaping to a beautiful garden of California natives and succulents. The variety of color, form, texture and movement created by the plantings has created a fascinating outdoor space that we enjoy every day - as do birds, bees, butterflies, etc. Every single member of the FormLA team was a delight to work with, and we never could have achieved the garden of our dreams without their knowledge, expertise and guidance. We continue to engage FormLA to handle our garden maintenance.

**Comment from FormLA Landscaping:**

> Vickie, what a joy you are to work with and the genuine delight the garden brings you is a pleasure to watch.

**★★★★★ — Roger Klemm, Jan. 2017**

> Cassy and FormLA are quality people who are good to do business with. They have maintained our mostly native yard for over a decade, and they really know what they're doing. I've also worked with them on a community project, and seen that they really know their native plants and sustainable landscape design.

**Comment from FormLA Landscaping:**

> Thank you Roger! It's always a pleasure working with you!

**★★★★★ — Rachel Young, Jan. 2017**

> Cassy and FormLA are at the forefront of sustainable landscaping in Southern California. They design and maintain beautiful, modern California friendly landscapes. The staff at FormLA has a really strong background in horticulture, design, and irrigation.

**Comment from FormLA Landscaping:**

> Rachel, thank you so much for taking the time to write this review! Our collaboration on the New Look for LA for Descanso, as well as the plan to evolve the Gardens' California Native Garden brought us great joy that endures to this day!

**★★★★★ — Robert Frank Interiors, June 2015**

> I have had the pleasure to work side-by-side with Form LA at the 2014 Pasadena Showcase house. Cassy has an amazing crew and she is a true visionary. Form LA created an updated garden space that was both beautiful and tranquil. The selection of local hardscape materials and native plants were in keeping with architectural integrity of the historic home and neighborhood. I continue to admire Cassy's landscape design work and the professionalism of Form LA. As a designer myself, it is refreshing to work alongside truly professional colleagues since it raises the bar for the quality of design in our community.

**Comment from FormLA Landscaping:**

> Hi Robert,
> I can't thank you enough for these extremely kind comments. They are the kinds of sentiments that keep us inspired!
> Most sincerely!
> Cassy

## Community Q&A

**Q: Please let me know What kind of trees are these in front of this house** *(in Photo Questions)*

Please let me know What kind of trees are these in front of this house? Thanks.

A: If you are referring to the street trees, they are Chinese Elms. In comparsion with the native Coast Live Oaks that line other sections of the street, they are difficult to maintain, as they quickly and constantly spread seedlings. When we renovated the landscape, several citrus trees were added to this space.

**Q: What is planted between the stepping pavers?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Beautiful project! What plant is planted between the stepping pavers?

A: Thank you! We really love this space - it's so exciting to have it on tour again this year! :)

This photo was taken when the area was still quite sunny, and the green joints between pavers were Thyme. The foliage left to right is Senecio, White Sage, and Lilac Verbena.

**Q: do you sell water fountains?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Fountains that are attached to the wall or free standing that can be left outside year round. I am in zone 4 so would have to drain water out f the fountain

A: Thank you for the question, Ellen. We do not sell fountains. We do create custom water features for the landscapes we design+build and sometimes end up maintaining fountains that preexisted our work, as we like to ensure optimal use of water. Here are a few tips if you are looking for fountains that conserve water. Hope this helps!

**Q: Any suggestions for fruit trees?** *(in Photo Questions)*

When is the best time to plant fruit trees

A: Hi Linda, thanks for the question! Pomegranate and Pineapple guava can both cast shade along with fruits and are compatible with the Mediterranean climate of LA.

**Q: simple fountain** *(in Photo Questions)*

Where can I purchase the fountain?

A: Oooooohhhhh! The bench in the top photo! Got it - my apologies. Those benches are a custom design+build by FormLA Landscaping (Isara Ongwiseth). Built-in seating has more than a few charms - this particular design and configuration contributes to the order and simplicity behind the patio's Zen.

**Q: outdoor wood trestle dining table** *(in Photo Questions)*

Was this table custom made or is it available online? Thanks.

A: Good morning! Thank you for your question! While it may look custom to the space, the dining table was purchased at Restoration Hardware by the homeowners. They did a beautiful job of complementing the design! The choice was an important one - the table anchors the garden and is also visible from much of the home. We hope you find one that serves your space equally well!
