Needless to say this project was expensive. We chose Coretec Russa Stone. Within a year, the tiles started to break and chip along and near the interlocking joints of the tiles. When filing a claim through the flooring store, we were immedaitely notified that our warranty claim would be honored and new flooring tiles provided. The entire Stone line from Coretec had been discontinued. I can only assume since my warranty claim was went through so quickly and th flooring line was discontinued, Shaw knew there was a manufacturing defect. However, Shaw will not pay to move all the appliances, tear out the defective floor, disposal of the defective tiles, installation of the new tiles, re-install the appliances, and do the touch up painting to make my new kitchen look exactly as it did when it was completed. It's ridiculous to design a product so poorly, market it in a way that makes it sound incredibly durable when it's actually the opposite, offer a lifetime warranty to entice the consumer to choose your product, and then not cover the costs to replace the product once the warranty is actually needed. One install was only a year old, and the other was three years. What good is a 30-year warranty if they deny claims that are not even five years old? > > THEY ARE A JOKE! **★★ — HU-745455734, Dec. 2021** > After a lot of looking, we chose Shaw's Prodigy Simplicity for our living spaces and bedrooms. It looks great, but we regret our purchase and are now trying to figure out our next move. We picked this floor based on it's pet friendly marketing. We have two large dogs. We have had Shaw LVP for about a month and in that time we our dogs have wiped out about a dozen times. One is having more issues than the other, but they are both having traction problems. They don't even need to be running to lose their traction. In all the research we did ahead of time we never thought to google will my dog be able to walk on LVP? If we did we would have seen all the products that have been invented because this is a problem for dogs. (There are non slip socks, stickers for paws, wax, spray, booties and nail grips you glue on to name a few). When I called Shaw to ask if there was anything we could do now that the floor is down Lyn told me I should have asked for the Friction Coefficient report before I bought the floor. WHAT?! She also told me Shaw's pet guarantee only refers to the floors ability not to scratch or stain, not my dogs ability to walk on the floor. Then she transferred me to Kayla in warranty who assured me this was not a warranty issue. (I didn't think it was - Lyn just wanted to be done with my call.) We went to the flooring store where we made our purchase after talking to Shaw. They told me they have been selling Shaw for over 20 years and have never heard of a friction coefficient report. So if the dealer doesn't know about the report, how was the customer to know? I don't think this will be a problem for every pet. Our dogs are on the large side, but they did live on shiny tile their whole lives until we moved, and they never had an issue with traction. Not until the day we installed Shaw LVP. Since we know we will always have pets, we would never purchase LVP again. The floor looks nice, but what does that matter when you are worried your dog will hurt themselves just walking around? What a waste of $11k. The Shaw LVP is now covered with carpet remnants our flooring store gave us so our dogs can walk in the house. There are Shaw carpets we like - but after they blamed us for not asking for a friction coefficient report, I can not justify giving Shaw anymore of our money. I do not think it is OK to promote a floor with a pet guarantee, but blame the customer for not asking if dogs can actually walk on it. I would not recommend this flooring for large dogs, older dogs, or any breed with hip or joint issues. We have been keeping the toenails short, paws shaved and using Musher's Secret. Unfortunately it has not stopped the wipe outs. I hope this can save a pet owner from the heartache of watching your dogs slip on the new floor that you saved up for and agonized over choosing. I feel horrible my choice has affected my dogs and my budget so negatively. I am completely disappointed with Shaw and their marketing. **★ — HU-130820033, June 2021** > Put 3500 of flooring down March 25. It started chipping on the edges with one week I’m still fighting with Sedalia lows and you guys to get my floor taking care of and only get the run around. I have 3 small kids 5,4 and 4 m. I don’t need them getting the chips in there foot. I have already. My mom and dad have the same flooring and run a daycare and there floor isant doing this. Lows in Sedalia said they think the pallet of flooring got wet damp then put up on the shelf then we bought it. The flooring I got in December for my steps isant doing it but was bought in dec all that is chipping was Bought in mArch . After spending nearly $12,000 on "upgraded" Shaw Floors for our new home, we started having quality issues day 1, which then progressed to our floors looking like they are 20 years old in a matter of months. It has been confirmed by multiple professionals as being a manufacturing quality issue yet Shaw refuses to stand behind their product (obviously an acknowledgment of the poor quality ). If you're like us, our home is special to us, so why soil your home with such low-quality flooring, Without a doubt, you would do better randomly picking any other flooring company. Throw your hard-earned money down the drain with Shaw Floors at your own risk. Also, it's quite telling that Costco no longer allows you to post reviews on Shaw flooring. A: Hi @madlil, we completely understand concerns going into a decision as big as floor selection. As the manufacturers, we would love to tell you a little about our EPIC Plus collection. Epic Plus is different than most plywood core engineered hardwood in that the core is called Stabilitek and is an enhanced high-density fiberboard type of core that doesn't use any plywood. The Stabilitek core in Epic Plus is more stable than traditional engineered hardwoods and is more resistant to things such as moisture. In addition, Stabilitek uses less newly harvested wood. We offer several styles within the EPIC Plus Collection featuring three species: Hickory, Maple and Oak.
