I am hesitant with painted cabinets and fear the paint might chip. Can you provide details about the finish? These cabinets are exquisite! A: these cabinets were built from a custom cabinetry company in Covington,LA. (Jackson Cabinets) With all painted cabinets chipping will occur over time compared to factory wood finish however, they do a remarkable job compared to most custom cabinet fabricators. I hIghly recommend them. **Q: maintenance of herringbone pattern marble** *(in Photo Questions)* I love the look! I put in a herringbone pattern in Calcutta marble on my bathroom floor 9 years ago. It has been a nightmare to keep clean. The grout spaces between stones are so thin dirt Persistently accumulates. I just spoke to my marble cutter at Sticks n Stones yesterday about replacing the floor. What’s your secret? Dr April Holman, Menlo Park A: I haven't had any issues with dirt in the grout lines and this renovation is 2 years old. I always specify Custom Building Products- PRISM grout on our projects. Prism grout is more expensive but it is specifically made to be stain resistant and help create dense grout joints. I'm not sure if this would help with your issue with the dirt. Is the grout lines lower than the marble. It should be in the same plane which would help keep it from accumulating in the joints.
