> It was a smooth and highly satisfactory experience working with Petra. She was very flexible with scheduling our meetings, especially accommodative of last minute schedule conflicts. She presented two different conceptual designs initially, and when we requested additional changes, she thoughtfully came up with an entirely new concept.
>
> She takes great care to understand our requirements clearly including small details and cultural considerations such as Vastu, and incorporates them thoughtfully into her designs. Her renderings are extremely impressive and helped us visualize the space effectively.

> We had the pleasure of working with Petra and Eddit on a project to redesign our home. Our project was quite complex, involving a full reconfiguration of the existing floor plan and the addition of a second story.

> Petra is an extraordinary designer and an absolute joy to collaborate with. As a general contractor, I’ve worked on dozens of projects with her—from floor plans to interior finishes (FF&E)—and her talent never ceases to impress. She brings a rare blend of creativity, technical expertise, and practicality. Petra doesn’t just make spaces beautiful—she makes them work. Her eye for design is impeccable, and her deep understanding of construction allows her to create layouts and finishes that are both stunning and efficient. Working with Petra elevates every project.

> Petra has an incredible attention to detail and is a true professional. She listens and is flexible to your personal style, but will help guide you to ensure that you end up with a beautiful end product. We were hesitant about spending more money on some of the tile and finishes for our new bathrooms, but I am in love with the result. Also, she was respectful of our choices to work around some of our existing materials and found ways to incorporate new finishes that elevated the entire current kitchen. We love our "new" home! Thank you Petra!

**★★★★★ — Jennifer Sandusky, Dec. 2024**

> We are absolutely thrilled with Petra's ability to understand our family and the way we live day to day. Her insight led to a design that we are excited to have in our home—it’s not only beautiful but also perfectly aligns with our lifestyle. After discussing our needs, she collaborated with our contracted company to create proposed plans that tackle the challenges of remodeling our old, quirky home, all while staying within our budget. Petra has also taken care of scheduling appointments with various companies for cabinets, windows, appliances, and more. Given our busy schedules, her creativity, organization, and dedication have been invaluable.

**Comment from Creative Partner - Home & Design:**

> Thank you so much for your kind words Jennifer. I’m thrilled the design not only reflects your family’s lifestyle but also brings beauty and function to your home. It was a pleasure to collaborate and help streamline the process for you. I can’t wait to see it all come together in your beautiful space.

**★★★★★ — Carl Engel, Dec. 2023**

> Petra was brought on to our full home remodel project as our interior designer by our design-build contractor, and we’re so happy she was! After a discussion about our priorities in design (timeless, functional, and high quality, while still cost-conscious vs going high-end just to make a statement), Petra leaned into our vision (embodied by our Houzz Ideabook and a few meetings) and provided invaluable support and insights throughout the process. She did a great job decomposing an intimidating mountain of design decisions into manageable pieces while ensuring we understood how they’re interrelated to keep everything cohesive.
>
> Our kitchen is the focal point of our house, and many of its features wouldn’t have existed (or at least been quite different) without Petra’s guidance, and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out! The same is true for our bathrooms; each has a different purpose and feel, and she made our ideas come to life. She leveraged her network of vendors to explore possibilities and work the best pricing once we narrowed our options. We spent countless Friday mornings with her on field trips looking at cabinets, countertops, tile, flooring, etc. We can’t imagine how much more stressful our remodel would have been without her support! We’d 100% recommend her to anyone who was doing a remodel and was looking for some professional guidance!

**Comment from Creative Partner - Home & Design:**

> I'm truly grateful for your heartfelt review Carl and thrilled to have been a part of your home remodel journey. It was a pleasure turning your vision into reality and making your space truly special. Thank you for putting your trust in me and for the kind words. Wishing you many wonderful moments in your beautifully transformed home!

> Thinking I could redesign and select all materials and colors for my master bathroom renovation was overambitious. I selected Creative Partner based on experience and areas of expertise. Petra assisted with design layout and provided color schemes, fixture ideas and minor details I wouldn't have considered without her assistance. Petra focused on my personal style then provided guidance in a world of overwhelming options. Petra is professional, punctual, organized, direct and well connected with various stone, tile, and cabinet vendors in the area which is a direct reflection of the respect they have for Creative Partner. Without hesitation, Creative Partner will be hired for my next home project.

**Comment from Creative Partner - Home & Design:**

> Thank you so much for your kind words Andrea. It was a pleasure assisting you with your bathroom and I look forward to our next project together.

**★★★★★ — Robert Miller, Dec. 2022**

> This is our 2nd remodeling project we've worked on with Petra. We just concluded the process of having Petra completely redesign our kitchen, dining room and living room, including a home addition. From beginning to end, initial meetings through submissions of plans for city permits, it was a pleasure to work with Petra. She is a true professional who listened closely to our needs and desires and translated our vision into a realistic design. Petra opened our minds to ideas we initially rejected and we couldn't be more pleased with the final house plans. I highly recommend Petra and I can't wait for the next opportunity to work with her.

**Comment from Creative Partner - Home & Design:**

> Thank you for trusting me again Robert. I'm so happy we were able to design the best floor plan for your family's needs. I hope you are enjoying your new space.

**★★★★★ — susaneflierl, Dec. 2022**

> Petra was invaluable in guiding me to discover the look and feel I wanted when remodeling my primary and daughter's bathrooms. Working with her was a pleasure; she's straightforward, surprises us with new design ideas, and always thinks about cost and functionality. Petra understands value, so you can end up with a bathroom that looks like a million bucks without spending a fortune on materials. Going material shopping with Petra was very efficient and a lot of fun. Her ideas quickly helped solved design challenges. As a result, both bathroom concepts fell into place quickly. Petra is creative, detail-oriented, and has excellent "taste." Petra brings a ton of experience and goes above and beyond to help her clients. I will continue working with Petra on future remodeling projects, and I highly recommend her as your next home designer and remodeling partner.

**Comment from Creative Partner - Home & Design:**

> I'm deeply appreciative of your glowing review and the opportunity to work together. Your kind words mean the world to me, and I'm thrilled to have helped bring your bathroom dreams to life. Looking forward to many more successful collaborations in the future!

## Community Q&A

**Q: kitchen makeover** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hi All! We purchased our home 5 months ago and this kitchen is driving me crazy! Too many different hardware finishes, 2 islands with different cabinetry, laminate countertops, etc. Where would you start, if a DIYer? Can’t do entire space right now, but need a gradual, cost-friendly plan.
Thank you!

A: I don't think the seating area is strange. It gives your kitchen so much character! I would add some throw pillows on the benches and maybe different art work. If you can, as a quick change, paint the islands white. That way you'll only have two different cabinet colors and make the hardware all the same with a mixture of knobs and handles.

**Q: What to do with unused front living room** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Help me, I don’t know what to do with this unused space... nobody ever goes in the front room and it feels like this waste of space. We don’t really need an office as we already have one. This room is just blah and the first thing you see when you walk in. We have 4 young kiddos so keep that in mind.

A: We had the same situation moving into our home a few years back. We never used the 'living room' but I didn't want it to be unused. With smaller kids at the time, I created a game/play room and today we call it art room where we do creative projects, play games, and it also is the home of our football table. :-) Keeping in mind that you have 4 small children, I would make it a space for them to hang out and play. That way you keep your family room clean from any toys and clutter. Worked well for us. Hope that helps. Good luck with your project.

**Q: 2 windows and double french doors vs 4 panel sliding doors** *(in Building a Home)*

We are building in a small community of 28 semi-custom homes. The builder is known for his high quality and stylish homes (avg. home price is in the 700's.) He uses Jeld-Wen windows exclusively.
I'm a little worried though because I've read previous reviews about their products and they are daunting! Hoping (naively) to get different opinions! The current floor plan calls for 2 windows and double french doors out to a screened porch (picture is of the same floor plan in somebody else's home under construction):

We thought it would be great to change it to a 4-panel sliding patio door to increase air flow and floor space. It would look like this:

I was looking for thoughts on style but then read some pretty horrific reviews on Houzz about Jeld-Wen. I know my builder works with them directly (vs through HD/Lowes) so I won't have to deal with them myself. But what about quality? I am praying not all Jeld-Wen products are created equal. Not sure I have a choice but interested to hear your opinions. (I believe the door model is the Premium Vinyl (v-4500) 4 panel multi-slide.)

A: I would definitely go with a 4-panel patio door be it a French slider or even one you can open completely. It will give you more of an indoor/outdoor living feeling and also looks much more sophisticated and clean. As for Jeldwen, I would ask your builder if you can select a different brand patio door and pay the difference. Good luck with your project.

**Q: countertop installers hell..advice needed** *(in Remodeling)*

After taking my payment, the installers are now saying that a prefab won’t work for my area because the area behind the sink is most likely at a different height. They are recommending a step up. Pics of sink Area attached. Are they trying to pull a fast one on me?
Any chance a prefab will work even if levels are not the same?

A: I don't think the prefab would have worked in the first place as your countertop is deeper than a standard prefab slab due to the space behind your sink. A step won't work either as your window comes down all the way unless you get a new window.

**Q: kitchen island advice** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hi. we are redoing our kitchen counters and are redoing the island. Right now it is two heights are we are bringing it all to counter height. we may place stools under then end so will allow 24 inches for each seat. my question. do we keep the LShape or just go with a rectangle?
I like the idea of the L shape , as it makes the island appear larger. We dont have room to widen the island in other areas. And the oak is staying. (my husband is opposed to changing it. I appreciate your insight.

A: It really depends what you want to accomplish with this remodel and how YOU use your kitchen? What works for you? You can do it nicely either way. I suggest talking to an experienced kitchen designer who can help you figure out what's the best solution for you and draw up some options. Good luck with your project.

**Q: Looking for backsplash advice** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hi all,
I'm not thrilled with how my new counters (symphony gray ceasarstone) are looking, so I want to make sure I choose a great backsplash. I'm not sure what is clashing here, but need something to tie it together. Cabinets are Ikea grimslov (off-white). Thanks in advance for the help.

A: I love the kitchen example tedbixby posted. I would have suggested something similar as I think a solid backsplash is too boring and won't tie it together well enough for you.
