> RUF did an incredible job with the renovation of our 4-bedroom home. We bought a foreclosed house and it was a mess. There were conflicting styles from several phases of prior renovation, much was in disrepair, and several things had been purposefully damaged or removed by the previous owners. We asked RUF to help us redesign the home to give it a clean, modern, yet comfortable aesthetic, but to leave the overall structure of the home intact in order to keep the project cost reasonable. RUF's vision for the design was to bring the home back to its California ranch roots, updated in a classically modern style. A: Exterior soffits are Alaskan Yellow Cedar;  Interior ceilings are Hemlock.

**Q: Load?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Guessing the glass wall isn't load bearing. What's supporting the roof? Is it canterleavered or is there some other hidden magic?

A: The solid glass fins resist horizontal wind loads; so they are important. The span is taken care of by a 3' x 10.5" Glulam with 4 point loads to 4" HSS steel columns. This glulam beam is 108' in length.

A: This is custom fixed glazing; using an double pane argon filled insulated glazing unit set in aluminium channels top and bottom. The fins are 3/4" glass acting as mullions to resist lateral pressure loading (wind).

Hi!
I'm just trying to decide the spacing on this myself and I'm very torn between 1/8" and 3/16" as I feel that a full 1/4" is too much spacing.. What is this??
