### Reviews

**★★★★★ — lindsey pitt, Aug. 2020**

> We recently remodeled our kitchen and converted a storage room into a bedroom. The project cost over $200K. Williams Construction did a terrific job.
> Peter was transparent if something didn’t go to plan and would come with 2-3 solutions to discuss, so it was 99% plain sailing.
> Peter's experienced in what works and what doesn’t and more interested in the design than other contractors I’ve worked with. That didn’t stop me debating points with him, but generally I came round to his way of thinking, because he was right.
> The team didn’t cut corners: they worked with care and precision. In the past, I’ve found builders do a rough job and leave the fixes for others. Peter and the contractors he brings in are all about getting things right first time and happy homeowners.
> I’d wholeheartedly recommend Williams Construction. As well as good at what they do, Peter, Eric and Elias were fun to have around and took the stress out of the renovation.

> Peter added a bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen to our Sunset district home. The process was smooth and easy, and he came in on budget and on time. What a treat!
>
> It’s not easy to get your plans through the planning and building departments in San Francisco and then to pass all the inspections, but with Peter’s skill and knowledge it all went smoothly.
>
> Peter has a great eye for design and also brings many years of experience to the design process with the result that everything looked and felt better than we ever imagined.
>
> Finally, he always kept us informed, often several times a day, on the status of work, and what to expect.
>
> I highly recommend Peter and Williams Construction.

> I worked with Peter and his team on a gut renovation of a cramped 1950's 950sf 2bed/1bath home that was transformed into a spacious light-filled 3bed/2.5bath home, effectively doubling the livable space. In our collaboration, my focus was on the space planning, finish, & fixture selections for the kitchen and bathrooms, along with layout design of recessed lighting, and window/door trim and interior finish selections for the entire home.
>
> Peter was great to work with as a collaborator because he has such a passion for good design, and wants to see the job done right not just quick, which is a work ethic I highly value. I was very happy with his team's craftsmanship and quality of work. Peter also contributed many interesting and valuable design ideas and solutions throughout the project.
>
> In any large remodel, there are lots of moving parts and a multitude of decisions that require excellent team communication and a focused timeline. Peter was fantastic and an essential part of the project's successful outcome. He was always available to discuss project details even when he wasn't on site. All of his communication included the entire team so everyone was on the same page with decisions. And he kept us updated with upcoming construction phases so we could ensure all corresponding decisions were finalized in time to avoid any project delays.
>
> As a bonus, he's an easygoing guy where I think every time I saw him at the jobsite he either had a smile, a story, or a laugh to share, which makes him a pleasure to work with!

**★★★★★ — Andy Schumeister, Dec. 2018**

> We are so happy we worked with Peter for our bathroom addition. As new homeowners, this was our first renovation experience, and we knew we were in great hands from the very beginning. He took the time to explain what he was doing and was available for any questions we had throughout the project. The work he does is truly outstanding.
>
> Beyond building our dream bathroom, Peter and his team were communicative, responsive, trustworthy, and friendly.
>
> I would highly recommend Peter and am certain we’ll be working with him for future projects.

**Comment from Williams Construction:**

> Thanks Andy l, it was a pleasure working for you!

**★★★★★ — Lennart van den Ende, March 2018**

> Peter and his company have done a number of small/medium-sized projects for us and I would recommend him to anyone.
> Not only does Peter bring top notch quality craftsmanship to the project, but he is also creative, innovative and a pleasure to work with.

**★★★★★ — Jim Treman, Feb. 2018**

> I am an architect and have worked with Peter Williams on several significant residential remodel project with budgets between 400K and 1.2M. Williams construction consistently delivers high-quality and detail-oriented work. They are well versed in the building code and have an impressive track record of pushing projects to their conclusion despite San Francisco's stringent permitting and inspection processes. I have enjoyed collaborating with Peter during all phases of the design and construction process. He often thinks outside the box and comes up with creative solutions to challenging situations and has a fantastic design sense. I am happy to have Williams Construction build my projects as I am confident it will result in a great finished product and satisfied clients.

**★★★★★ — Patrick Williams, Feb. 2018**

> Our project (see pics of "Castro Transformation") began as an open-ended desire to enlarge the master bedroom and re-arrange the flow in the living area. It grew to a gutting of almost the entire house, the addition of a room and a complete transformation. Working with an architect and a designer, Peter managed this sprawling project and brought it to completion with results we had never imagined when it began. His skill at collaboration, creativity, attention to detail and insistence on excellent workmanship resulted in a living space that brings us joy every time we enter it. Two years later, we still can't really believe that this is our house.

**★★★★★ — Tye R, Feb. 2018**

> Peter and his crews have worked on 4 separate projects for us (with a 5th coming up). Planning was open and collaborative, the execution was efficient and minimally disruptive, and the work is outstanding.

**★★★★★ — Kirby Rattenbury, Feb. 2018**

> Peter and his team are amazing - Peter listened carefully to our suggestions, gave us great feedback and ideas, and executed flawlessly. The time and care he takes to make things just right is awesome - you end up with something truly special and of exceptional quality. Peter will always be our go-to for the job!

**★★★★★ — Colin Johnson, Feb. 2018**

> I had the good fortune of hiring Williams Construction to remodel my sons bedroom and update the Victorian era hallway in my 1904 home. Peter and his crew were skilled, courteous, quick and tidy. I wholeheartedly recommend Williams Construction to anyone seeking top notch contractor.

**★★★★★ — sanrodg, Feb. 2018**

> Peter transformed our old stable house into a beautiful modern home! The work was done with excellent craftsmanship and resulted in a perfect combination of classic styling with advanced technology and efficiency. The space feels much larger now, and unique aesthetics make it a one-of-a-kind house!!!

**★★★★★ — Richard Kuno, Feb. 2018**

> I really enjoyed working with Peter. Williams Construction has executed a number of projects for us, most notably a gorgeous modern addition with two bathrooms. I'm known for being picky, and his attention to detail even surpassed my expectations. He listened to what I wanted, helped me plan what was doable for a reasonable price, and then executed the plan in a timely fashion. His crew are friendly, courteous and conscientious. I couldn't have asked for more from a contractor!

## Community Q&A

**Q: what is around the fireplace** *(in Photo Questions)*

Beautiful design. I just bought an Ortal tunnel fireplace too which I inserted into my room divider. I wanted the look you have with the clean surround that appears to be just regular sheetrock/wall material. My contractor insists I need tile around the fireplace to get clean edges around the view box. How did you get yours so nice and rectangular?

A: It is indeed just Sheetrock. If your contractor is concerned about the corners returning into the fireplace looking crisp you can use a fry-regret drywall corner bead or j-mold instead of a regular sheet metal corner.

**Q: Love the backsplash.** *(in Photo Questions)*

Can you tell me the tile name and mfg'er. Thank you.

A: Heath Tile, can't remember the base color, some kind of "crackle"glaze. Thank you!

**Q: Customer loves the railing. How is the manufacturer** *(in Photo Questions)*

I am building a contemporary deck in New Jersey and the homeowners loves the simplicity of the railing you used. Could tell me how is the manufacturer?
Thank you

A: Roof deck consists of ipe tiles on Bison pedestals. Steel railing was fabricated by local metalworker and epoxy powder coated for durability.
