ROYAL Decks Co. is a custom decking company priding itself in high quality of work and complete customer satisfaction. ROYAL Decks Co. focuses on specialty materials, such as exotic hardwoods, low maintenance materials and high grades of cedar. ROYAL Decks Co. offers a complete solution for a homeowner from custom designs to the execution of the project.

ROYAL Decks Co. was founded in Burlington Ontario and quickly grew to serve all surrounding areas of Toronto and from 2008 also Calgary. We are successful because we take every project as if it was the only one, although we build hundreds each year.

In order for the deck to be great, it has to be usable, look great and fulfill all of the customer's expectations. With our extensive experience, we will work with you to design the deck that will serve the purpose, according to your needs. This means getting the right size and shape of the deck, getting the right features and selecting the right materials. We work with many materials of different properties and we are sure to find one that will work for you.

We have only the most experienced carpenters. Our carpenters have been in construction most of their lives and they build decks not because they have to, but because they love it. All of our decks have to meet very strict ROYAL Decks Co. quality control on top of any building code requirements. Our decks not only meet building code, they exceed it.

### Reviews

**★★★★★ — renupshah, Nov. 2021**

> Thank you to Miro and the team at Royal Decks for our backyard project this summer!
>
> When we initially met with Miro, we didn’t really know how to best use our backyard space. Miro was very patient and took the time to understand us and our constraints. He came back with some sound advice and proposals that we loved!
>
> Every step of the way, we worked with professionals who kept us informed and stress-free. There were no surprises- we have the landscaping, deck, and pergola that we expected. l have to particularly thank Steve, our Project Manager and his team, Arthur, Chris, who really made this a great experience for us.
>
> We have already, and will continue to recommend Royal Decks to our friends. Their quality of work is outstanding!

**Comment from ROYAL Decks and Landscapes:**

> Thank you for a great review Renu. It was pleasure working with you and we all love how your backyard turned out. Enjoy!

**★★★★★ — alo13, Sept. 2021**

> Miro, Steve and team are great.
> Prices quoted were inline with other deck companies contacted.
> Great to have in house design available.
> Would recommend.

**★★★★★ — Peter Morrow, Jan. 2019**

> We are extremely pleased with our new deck. From start to finish, dealing with Royal Decks has been a very positive experience. Miro was very professional and helpful in preparing the original plans and specifications. Likewise the team of Dave and Russell who built the deck was absolutely top notch. They put a great deal of effort into ensuring that this was a quality structure. I had thought that such old fashioned attention to detail and craftsmanship had died out in Canada. I have no reservations about recommending Royal Decks to any potential client.

**Comment from ROYAL Decks and Landscapes:**

> Thank you very much for a nice review Peter. Hope you enjoy your deck for many years to come!

**★ — Jim Spencer, Oct. 2017**

> Dealing with Royal Decks has been an endlessly frustrating experience. We had 4 quotes for decks and we picked them because they were the most expensive and had good reviews on Homestars and Miro seems like a genuinely nice guy. You pay a hefty deposit ($5000) up front to save the dates 2 months in advance. What was quoted as a 7-10 day job took 2.5 months...always caught up in other jobs. They just disappear for weeks and really don't seem to care. The weather was fine so that wasn't an excuse. You pick out your material months before but they keep having to order it (sorry don't have the plants, and sorry don't have the railings) etc which leads to delays again and again. They made some big mistakes and gave us poor options to fix them. Some of their problems were related to their poor communication with other tradespeople who all were upset by Royal Decks behaviour. What should have been a straightforward relatively small but expensive job has been headache after headache. Problem is once you've spent the money what recourse do you have? Would never recommend them.

**Comment from ROYAL Decks and Landscapes:**

> Dear Amanda and Kieran, I apologise that we weren’t able to fulfill your expectations. This year was quite different from any other year. We had extreme rain in spring time, effects of which carried on for the rest of the year. We started on your project 3 weeks after what we initially agreed to.
>
> However, there are few things in your review that are not accurate. We never disappeared from your project to go to a different project. We started on your deck first week of September and we were finished with both of your decks within 2 weeks. There were a few days within these 2 weeks we weren’t there because we were short on few boards which have to be ordered in. Railings are always ordered after the deck is framed up, as we use custom railings for every project and it must fit 100%. This is explained to every customer ahead of time. The result is that there is a 2-4 week time frame when we are not working on your project. Railing was completed second week of October.
>
> To address the “big mistakes” you speak of in your review, there were three mistakes. Downspout was wrongly directed. Lights transformer was installed at a different outlet than you wanted. And lastly, there was the temporary staircase. We explained to you on a couple of occasions that we cannot install a proper staircase until you have a retaining wall rebuilt, because your waterproofing contractor destroyed the retaining wall and stairs had to land on retaining wall. Temporary stairs were installed so you can still use your deck. After your landscaper fixed the retaining wall, we came and rebuilt stairs with proper finishes. The other two issues were corrected as they were very simple fixes.
> When I picked up final payment, Kieran said that he was very happy with the work that we’ve done. Hope you and your family will enjoy decks we built for you.

**★★★★★ — Jay Bee, June 2017**

> We can't say enough great things about Royal Decks; what a positive experience!
>
> Miro from Royal Decks was a pleasure to work with as was the team (Steve, Patrick and Chris) assigned for our project. The team was familiar with the requirements of the project including building permits for the City of Toronto, and adhered to or exceeded on all facets.
>
> During construction our experience included:
> \- timely communication
> \- work completed as scheduled and within budget
> \- construction area cleaned at the end of each workday
>
> A big thank you to Steve, Patrick and Chris for a job well done!!!!

**Comment from ROYAL Decks and Landscapes:**

> Thank you Janice, it was pleasure working with you. Enjoy your deck!

**★★★★★ — Dawn Fovargue, May 2017**

> We began the process of replacing our builder supplied deck last June. We hired Miro's company to build our deck and he agreed to get the permits we needed as well. The permit process took months but his staff were patient and did all the work for us in getting our permits.
> After months we got our final permits in January and Miro's crew (Steve, Patrick and Chris) started construction March. His crew were very professional, secured the job site every night before they left. They were able to easily accommodate some last minute changes and still finished on time. Miro was very patient, accommodating and easy to work with. His crew was friendly and were not put off by our young children watching them through the windows. We are very happy with our finished deck and can't wait to have our friends over to show it off.
> We would recommend Royal Decks to anyone.

**Comment from ROYAL Decks and Landscapes:**

> Thank you very much Dawn, it was pleasure working with you. Enjoy your deck and roof

**★★★★★ — Sean Doner, April 2017**

> Miro and his crew were fantastic to work with. They showed up and did the work professionally and got the job done when they said they would even when there were a few snags along the way due to weather and issues with the buried rocks from the houses construction. My wife and I can't recommend them enough. The end result was fantastic and was a great compliment to our pool.

**Comment from ROYAL Decks and Landscapes:**

> Thank you Sean, it was pleasure working for you. Enjoy your new deck!

**★★★★★ — ShadeFX, Jan. 2016**

> Royal Decks Co. Inc. has successfully specified and installed ShadeFX on multiple projects. The end result has been consistently impressive. Royal Decks’ ability to understand their customer’s needs and to apply our solution into their visions is commendable.
>
> We look forward to being part of Royal Decks’ future design plans.

**★★★★★ — Paul Lafrance Design, Jan. 2015**

> Royal Decks is one of our Paul Lafrance Design recommended builders, and is a fantastic company that we are proud to work with. Not only are they great communicators who take care of their clients, they have the skills and vision to bring to life the custom designs that we create. We know that when we recommend Royal Decks to a design client, they're in good hands!

**★★★★★ — mikeandsherbear, Jan. 2015**

> We recently completed a rear deck with porch cover with Miro from Royal Decks. We can't say enough about the quality and customer service that Royal Decks brought to our project. Miro is a true professional in his field.
>
> We started our deck planning process with Miro in the summer of 2013, although we did not start our deck until the following summer (this due to our indecision over the look we wanted!) We had a vision of what we wanted to achieve and Miro worked along with us to shape our ideas into reality. Miro was very patient and understanding of us as we worked with him to design what we wanted. We think we must have had 15 versions of a deck, before we settled on a final concept. During our period of indecision, Miro was always very patient and helpful. He readily provided his technical expertise and design insights to each layout we came up with. Miro was very straightforward and honest in telling us what was possible and what wouldn't work. After every design change we went through, he always provided us with an accurate materials quote and drawing. Nothing is left for guesswork. From walking through the design process with Miro, we could tell that he has a deep passion towards each new project, and that he was focused on making sure we arrived at the look we wanted. He never rushed us.
>
> On each construction day during our project, Miro's team were always punctual. The team was always very approachable and accommodating to any concerns during the build process. Miro was always able to address any problems and minor changes in a timely fashion. As our project required a roof, Miro's team took extra care towards achieving the desired appearance, slope, drainage, and seamless tie-in to our existing roof.
>
> Miro's team often worked long days (often 10 to 12 hours) in humid August heat to meet the project timelines. However, no step on the effort was ever rushed. From watching the carpenters work, one could tell that they were very meticulous to each measure, cut, and angle. Miro does not sacrifice quality for the sake of schedule.
>
> Each day the job site was kept clean and organized. Miro's team was very accomodating to other trades (electrician and gas line installer) who were involved in our project,
>
> We are very happy with our new deck, and would highly recommend Miro and Royal Decks to anyone in need of a deck or other framing work.
>
> Thank you Miro
> Sherry and Mike

**★★★★★ — Julia Golubovskaya, Aug. 2014**

> Royal Decks built our deck in North York in June 2014 - within timing and budget. I feel lucky we found them as it was probably our best experience out of our quite reach history dealing with various building / home improving companies. We enjoyed working with Royal Decks from the stage of the quote submission to finishing the project. We chose Royal Deck out of several companies who provided the quotations - we were working with Julian on design and price: he was very punctual, responsive and creative to help us to find a way to get the perfect design meeting our needs (upscale look and feel, privacy, low maintenance, practicality - e.g. shed under the higher level, space for gazebo) within the budget. They started the project exactly when they promised. Royal Decks demonstrated high quality of craftsmanship and attention to details. Everyone we worked with demonstrated high level of professionalism and understanding of our needs, they were flexible to accommodate our changing requests during the project and showed absolutely great customer service in dealing with and fixing of few day-to-day issues during the project. We are happy to recommend Royal Decks and hope new customers will enjoy their new decks like we do today. Huge thanks to Miro, Julian and entire Royal Deck Team, we truly got our dream deck!

**★★★★★ — HL Parsons, April 2014**

> We received several quotes to build a deck at our house and decided to go with Miro of Royal Decks. Not only was their design the nicest, their price point was also the most reasonable for what was offered. Miro was patient and pleasant throughout the whole design/decision process and his team of builders that included Steve, were punctual, polite and tidy. They worked fast to get the deck built in time for the nice turn in weather and now we're looking forward to decorating and using the deck for the warmer months!

**Q: Decking material?** *(in Photo Questions)*

May I ask what decking material this is and who the manufacturer is? Thank you very much.

A: Hi Material is Azek Slate Grey

**Q: what color decking** *(in Photo Questions)*

I assume this is composite decking? If so, what brand/color? Thanks

A: Its Timbertech XLM however its no longer sold. Equivalent would be Timbertech Azek Morado and Brazilian Walnut.

**Q: Love the privacy fence...what size, etc. wood was used?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: I believe size of slats was 1x4 Azek. Framing structure behind is done with 4x4 posts and 2x4 framing.

**Q: what is the decking and colour used in this photo?** *(in Photo Questions)*
