I've been in my house for 13 years and wanted a change. I felt that staining the cabinets the popular espresso color would not work with my black appliances. So my other choice was white. I always admired white kitchens and loved the refreshing look. I spend weeks on houzz and pinterest gathing confidence that my kitchen would look great white. So I hired a painter and told him I wanted white cabinets, not knowing that there are so many shades of white. Taking the advice of the painter, he said that it was going to look great. I have the perfect white......oh that is last time I take advice from a painter. The white was TOO WHITE! Too cold looking. Now I am at cross roads. I need to repaint my cabinets but I have no clue what color. I am big Sherwin Williams fan but that is also out of convenience. There is a store right by my house. Ive tried samples of White Dover - too yellow; Creamy looked ok; Downy has a pink undertone, Greek Vanilla seems too similar to what I have. I just really need to tone down the 'white'. If anyone could give me a suggestion with a different color or paint manufacture, I would greatly appreciate it. Im obsessed with this project and want it completed. The kitchen and living room is where we want to start. We are thinking of getting rid of the island and making two-tier bar on the window side. Any advice for cabinets, floor, appliances etc?
