Our first and only stop was at LandMark because they have a reputation for excellence. John was our main contact and from day one, he made it his mission to learn what we wanted. He gave us a digestible amount of options based on what we liked. Even as people who have strong opinions on design, we found it easy to trust John and his team to take the lead on the details. We worked with their architect for the porch design, and LandMark's top-notch siding teams, roofers, electricians, carpenters, plumbers, gutter installers and front-door workers brought our vision to life. > Each inspection by the village went off without a hitch. > Ishmael, the siding lead, and his right hand, Martin (and others), meticulously removed our old siding and replaced rotten boards (there were a lot!). Ishmael said "I work like this is my own home and how I'd want the work done," and it showed. That team was there every day, on time, and left the project clean at the end of each day. The detail work on the porch supports and around the windows kicked everything up a notch. > The roofers replaced 30 rotted boards and vented everything properly and it actually made the house smell less musty. > Chris, the carpenter, and his assistant built the porch structure and no doubt it will be standing long after we aren't! Low-maintenance Trex creates a casually-elegant welcome to our home. They also installed a cable system for railings. It gives a sense of spacial privacy without obstructing our views. > Since we raised the porch, the outdoor water spigot needed to be relocated, which LandMark's plumbing contractor did with ease. > Their electrician flawlessly installed lighting and fans on the porch ceiling and added extra outlets outside (which we'd highly recommend doing). > We chose metal for the porch roof and it is a sharp design element that subtly calls attention to the porch, and we went with clean white gutters throughout. > Last was the reconfiguration of our brick walkway and installation of a blue stone step to better match our home's new, more modern vibe. > We've had a lot of people stop and compliment us on how the project turned out.
