The contract reflected everything that was in the final estimate and Roger met with us in person so that we understood everything in the contract before signing. > > His crew: removed popcorn ceiling & paneling, texturized the ceiling and sheetrock, removed walls, added a beam, replaced flooring (installed wood and tile), installed new baseboards throughout the downstairs, installed new window sills, painted all the walls and ceilings, removed carpet on stairs and replaced with wood then stained the handrails & newels and painted the balusters (gorgeous!), added a barn door which was built on site, added can lights in 2 rooms and a ceiling fan and hung 2 light fixtures. His crew added a new half-bath inside the house with a sliding pocket door, added an entryway bench with storage, refinished a studio (part of the garage) into a playroom by adding a thick stepped baseboard to conceal the concrete, a barn door, utility sink and a magnetic wall, remodeled a bar into a storage closet with a slat wall, remodeled a wine closet into a mini-study, enclosed an open attic access stairway with drywall, re-floated and painted all pop-corn ceilings, painted several rooms and tiled various areas. He was very easy to work with, answered text messages promptly, met with us whenever we wanted, arranged resources as best as he could and was reasonable with the price. Project was way beyond original scope discussed and in spite of personal issues that he and his crew had to deal with and hence could not work on several days, they completed all tasks in a reasonable time frame and to our satisfaction. He accommodated all our change requests and dead lines. Special mention about his guy Poli who did the bulk of the work except electrical, plumbing and tiling. I recently contacted Roger, the owner and he responded with an appointment and came out promptly. I was pleased with the price of the estimate ( I had 2 other companies name I will not mention ) and EVCO seemed the most fair. Skeptical about my decision at first, I am very pleased to say the least. I had granite countertops put in, a new sink, backsplash and appliances installed. The staff was friendly, polite and respectful. The job was done on time & Roger was very involved throughout the process. Most importantly- I have been receiving compliments non-stop from friends & family and am so pleased with the end results. It came out better than I had hoped for! Should I go with an under-cabinet range hood or remove the upper cabinet completely and install a large range hood? Thanks! A: I would keep in mind the lower the bottom of whatever choice you go with shouldn't be too low so you don't hit your head on it.
