**★★★★★ — Linda Reid, Aug. 2017**

> We were drawn to this company because it is family owned......the more we talked to them about what we wanted, the experience became more and more enjoyable - although we took several months to make a decision, we never felt rushed to make a decision, instead they kept smiling and kept helping us. They came to our house several times to give advice and ask what look we were going for and then gave us advice on types of wood, width, hardness and characteristics
> of each type of wood. My husband was very impressed that the installation was done by their own employees and not hired out....the men on the job were professional, caring and a joy to work with....each day they cleaned up and were very careful of our existing furniture. they were also happy to answer any and all questions we had during installation. We would highly recommend them and in fact, we already have.....Thanks Koeber's - we love our floor!!!

**Comment from Koeber's Interiors: Flooring, Furniture, Windows:**

> Thank you for the kind review Linda! We have enjoyed working with you very much.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Dreamweaver Chelsea Berber Carpet** *(in Home Decorating)*

Hello does anyone have Dreamweaver Chelsea Berber Carpet in any of the follow colors: Enfield, Windhaven, or Highwinds? if so can you please share a photo? Thank you

A: Sorry no photo, however, if this carpet is going into a high traffic area, move to a nylon fiber instead of polyester. Or if you plan to live on the carpet more than 2 years, nylon will be more resilient & not crush or mat down. Here are a few comparable looks in nylon:
Dixie Top Knotch
Anderson Tuftex Fetch
Anderson Tuftex Sundance
Anderson Tuftex Via Lido
Masland Victoria Island

**Q: Flooring: Hardwood vs Other Options during Remodel** *(in Remodeling)*

We have white oak hardwood in the living room, 2 bedrooms, and hallway, and red oak hardwood in the back bedroom. When we bought the house we took up the carpet and had the hardwood stained and refinished. There was some termite damage that the flooring company did a poor job repairing/patching; there is also some unevenness to the staining done.

Now, we are remodeling the kitchen and adding on to the back bedroom. We are also removing a floor furnace that was in the wall between the living room and hallway and will need to patch or re-do the flooring there.

We are wondering about the cost and strategy for flooring:

Option 1: We put tile in the kitchen and look for someone who can match / patch oak hardwood where the floor heater was removed and match / add on to the red oak in the back bedroom. The pro would be keeping hardwood! Our concerns are:

this may be too difficult for someone to do and would require sanding and refinishing all the hardwood floors to make things match
it would also be triple the cost of other options
requiring completely emptying the house and moving out for a week.

Option 2: Re-do flooring in the entire house (except bathrooms) with engineered hardwood or vinyl plank flooring. Our concern here is getting rid of the beautiful hardwood that we love. The pros seem to be:

lower cost (true?)
doing the work room by room vs having to move out completely.

Any pros and cons you would add?
Anyone else have to make this choice?
Thoughts on cost comparison?

A: Your home seems to lend itself to hardwood if you can stay in budget with wood- go that route! Possibly a sand in home and match existing or refinish all to an updated tone.

**Q: Does Coretec make floor vents to match noble oak flooring?** *(in Flooring)*

I had Coretec Noble Oak LVP flooring installed in my home. I need floor vents now to match the floor! Any recommendations?

**Q: Cannot decide which prefinished hardwood to choose** *(in Flooring)*

We are about to start a big remodel of a house we recently purchased. We have just about every material picked out but cannot decide on which floor to choose. We've been to probably 6 or 7 different flooring stores and I've done extensive research online. We are sure we want prefinished wood - either solid (which I prefer) or engineered. Engineered must be at least 3mm wear layer or thicker so it can be sanded at least once. We want larger planks, in a medium/dark grey/brown tone. Every brand I research seems to have reviews of peeling, cracking etc.

Any suggestions on best brands? We have no kids or pets - just the two of us. This wood flooring will be in the kitchen, dining, living room, entry and hallway all on the main level. We live in the Midwest so get wide temperature and humidity swings throughout the year. We are willing to pay up to $8/sq ft for the flooring (less than that is better but we don't want something low quality).

Any suggestions appreciated! I've searched the forums and found a few threads but they are old and once again one person would say a brand is great, then the next would say they were horrible - all in the same thread!

A: A 4 1/4" solid Mirage product with cashmere finish could be a good fit for you. Keeping foot rugs in front of the sink, and other water prone areas will help. If there's significant standing water you'll see issues. If you wipe it up, you'll be just fine! The mirage finish does excellent. Much of their line is a smooth look so may show more dents and scratches but shouldn't puncture the finish- it's pretty flexible.

**Q: carpet suggestions please** *(in Flooring)*

Looking to replace Berber carpet in family TV room. Couch is a dark green and club chair is maroon and navy color. Anything edgy or cutting edge out there?

A: It's really nice! be sure to get samples of colors before making a final selection :) They send free samples.

**Q: Who is unhappy with their LVP flooring?** *(in Flooring)*

ok

A: Not all LVTs are created equally... You pay for what you get. Vinyl expands and contracts so you must be sure you're purchasing from a reputable company who has lots of experience with the brand you're buying. Some LVTs have a much more stable core than others. We have great experience with CoreTec, most Shaw Floorte's and a few other local brands. Installation is everything too! If it's not interlocked properly, your waterproof feature will not perform. Additionally, It can be heat sensitive so you should not ever steam mop it. Care makes a huge difference in performance.
