We interviewed several contractors for our demolition of an existing home and entire new home build. Within minutes of meeting Jason, I knew he was the right guy for the job. For any construction project, getting along well with your contractor is almost as important as their quality of work. Jason was easy to get along with and we had no problem communicating throughout our entire build process. After we chatted with him for a while, he took us to see some of the homes he had built/was building. The quality was second to none. It was a testament to his relationship with his clients, that he was able to just call a couple of them up and they opened their homes to us, proud to show off his work. > > We started our process with Jason during the height of the pandemic. It was uncharted waters for everyone, but he was always clear with his communication. There were obviously some "surprises" as prices for materials and labor were going up at an unpredictable rate. Jason helped explain to us what was going on, and was able to find some other subcontractors to use when he thought the original ones were not being fair with their prices. Overall, we really appreciated his guidance through these crazy times. > > Jason's subs were all great as well. He holds them to his standard, which is a high one. He was at the job site constantly, making sure everyone was doing what they were supposed to be doing, and how he wanted it done. His years of experience allowed him to make sure there was little downtime on the job site. There was always someone there working, but never stepping on each other's toes. That project consisted of the master bed/bath, kids bath, and front façade. We later did a more complicated project in which we excavated the back yard and created a basement for a large family room below the house. > I did not initially know of Equity Builders but they were recommended by my designer and we feel lucky to have found them. Even with three young kids and workers in and out for months, we were always well informed of exactly what was taking place each day. If there were issues or decisions, the options were clearly communicated so I could make the best decision for the usability, aesthetics, and finances of the project. > In 2015, I decided to build a house from the ground up in a new lot.
