> DiFabion performed excellent work on our kitchen and main floor remodeling. From our initial meeting with them until the final one, everything was done with skill and professionalism. They protected our property from the time of pre-demolition all the way through final cleanup and addressed any unforeseen issues with expert advice. Their design process and plans assured that we had an array of options to consider to meet our needs and desires, and our change orders along the way were accommodated well also. DiFabion has a well-coordinated team of design professionals, carpenters who are true craftsmen, and managers who assure that the project overall is kept on-time and on-budget. We heartily recommend them for your remodel project!

> We were in the market to remodel our 15yo home's first floor to achieve better flow and update features and materials. Kitchen, master bath, LR, DR, laundry, porch, powder room, master closet, and back entrance. After exhaustive research into General Contractors, custom builders, etc., we chose to go with DiFabion based on a few different criteria. First, they specialize in remodels and not all types of construction which makes them knowledgeable about potential issues that may, and will, come up in the course of a remodel. Next, their outstanding reputation for doing quality work, and last but not least, they manage every aspect of the project in-house, from design to completion.
>
> We were pleasantly surprised (having dealt with numerous contractors over many years) that the communication was very clear and transparent regarding cost, timeline, unexpected issues, etc. Everything from payment schedules to weekly work updates was crystal clear before any work was started. The most pleasant surprise (shock, really) of all was how clean the work site was left every day. Even after days of major demo, walls and ceilings ripped apart, there wasn't a spec of sawdust left on the ground. Also, they were extremely punctual; workdays began and ended every day at the same time. They were quiet and respectful of our neighbors and so were the sub-contractors who had obviously been advised by DiFabion what was expected at job sites. We had numerous positive comments from neighbors about that over the course of the remodel which from demo to completion took 8 months (yes, we moved into an apartment).
>
> All that being said, at the end of the day, it's about the final product. Our house looks absolutely amazing. The craftsmanship and materials used, as well as working together toward a mutual design goal, made for a very impressive end result. Absolutely worth the time and cost to modify the home we already loved into one that not only looks beautiful but is much more functional than before.
>
> I know contractors are hard to come by these days, and the wait may be long, but don't sell your home short out of impatience. DiFabion is worth waiting for.

**Comment from DiFabion Remodeling, Inc.:**

> Thanks for the positive review! We love hearing from our customers – especially when our team was able to make a positive difference for you, your family and of course your sanctuary!
>
> I know our design and production team put a lot of hard work and creativity into your home, so I’ll be sure to pass your kind words off to our DiFabion Remodeling team!
>
> Thanks again for your exceptional review and trust you gave us with your home and project, and we hope that we can work with you again in the future!

> Everything about our project with DiFabion was awesome. The people on site and at the office were extremely skilled, fun and knowledgeable. They were so creative and listened to every idea and crazy question we had for them. Renovating during Covid was interesting but we loved having our crew at the house. There is seriously nothing that I would change.

**Comment from DiFabion Remodeling, Inc.:**

> Thank you! We appreciate you trusting us with you home and project. Covid presented some new remodeling challenges like never before but with awesome clients like YOU nothing could stand in our way from getting the remodel complete with plenty of smiles and a lot of fun along the way!

> DiFabion is excellent. They helped us design our kitchen that transformed a cramped kitchen and unused dining room into a beautiful large kitchen and entertaining area. They brought creative designer to the planning and built the kitchen with low/ no formaldehyde. We recommend thee company highly.

> As an interior designer, I have worked with DiFabion Remodeling on several projects; and when it came time to remodel my own home, DiFabion was chosen with no hesitation. The DiFabion crew has outstanding communication skills from the project manager down to all craftsmen in the field. Each day you know what work is going to be performed and who is coming to do it (you're never left hanging with questions that keep you awake at night). The DiFabion crew has worked together for years and interact perfectly in your home without negativity and with actually a great deal of joy. We all know that remodeling is extremely stressful, but the DiFabion crew makes the process as pleasant as possible. The homeowner is a part of the team and, as a result, a beautiful project is delivered on time and within budget. I recommend DiFabion Remodeling for any project in your home whether large or small.

**Comment from DiFabion Remodeling, Inc.:**

> Thank you for the kind words, Carolyn. We really enjoyed working with you on your project, and look forward to working together on future projects!

> We have used 3 contractors and Difabion was the best. These guys are very good at their job and take pride in their craft. Very professional and nice folks as well. They created detailed plans of our project which included the bonus room, laundry / mud room update, kitchen updates and fireplace remodel. I consider these guys a high end remodeling firm but without the high end price or attitude. They were incredibly detailed, astute craftsmen who took pride in their work. Difabion's in-house carpenter did amazing work and we are extremely happy with the project. We hope to use them again for our porch project.

**Comment from DiFabion Remodeling, Inc.:**

> Thanks so much for the kind words, Michael. We very much enjoyed working with you and Julie on this unique project. Please keep in touch and let us know if there's anything you ever need.

> We were in classic "Love it or List it" mode as a couple of boomers looking to age in place for the next 10 years. Our home needed significant modifications to achieve that.
> We drew up our wish list and had a series of meetings with Mike DiFabion and his design team.
> We could not have been more pleased with the process and the design results. We got a beautifully executed plan with plenty of options that ticked every box on our wish list.
> Ultimately we decided to "list it". Just fell in love with a new home for the same money.
> But we would have had no hesitation in working with DiFabion had the decision gone the other way.
> Highly recommend you give Mike a call for your project.

**Comment from DiFabion Remodeling, Inc.:**

> Thanks so much for the kind words, Dee. Best of luck with your new house, and please let us know if you ever need anything.

> Mike DiFabion has created a seamless remodeling process from start to finish. His group is top rated, first class. If you want a construction group that diligently plans the project on the front end (so you do not get surprises mid-construction), this is the company for you. They lead you through the entire process. This was a wonderful experience......and who ever says that about remodeling?
>
> A little about our project--Mike and his group designed a covered outdoor space for us. This included a screened in concrete porch, which lead to a large covered outdoor paver patio with a fireplace. They really had to do some architectural planning to tie the screened in porch to our existing sunroom. This was the main reason we were concerned about choosing a less organized group. We were afraid it would not be done right, and we would end up with a roof that leaks!
>
> First, Mike visited our home to discuss our ideas. If you decide to plan the project with he and his team, you pay a $2000 fee for their time in drawing up the plans. You keep the plans whether you move forward with his group or not. He comes back a few weeks later with the plans. At this point, he gives a price for the project. You get to digest the plans and decide if you wish to move forward.
>
> Honestly, it took me a full year to move forward. I really felt like this group was the full package....intelligent design and construction. However, I could not choke down the price. After we spoke to several other contractors we began to think that we might save 15%, but there would be a lot more work on our end, and the craftsmanship might be problematic. We also feared "surprise costs" with other contractors. Once we finally committed, Mike and his team then created a detailed plan, computer imaging presentation, and construction time line week by week. The computer imaging and their experience helped with making design choices. Construction began!
>
> Below are my observations during our project that sets DiFabion Remodeling apart:
>
> DiFabion Remodeling goes above and beyond to facilitate moving forward in the project. He and his team communicated with emails and through their construction app constantly. Both my husband and I work long hours. They would drop brouchures off at my house so that we could make selections more easily. Mike DiFabion himself made evening "house calls" to check in with us at a time that worked with our schedule. His oversight on each project is a huge part of what keeps the customer service top notch.
>
> The construction group is also very neat. They always cleaned up at the end of the day. They did their best to minimize the inconvenience of having construction going on in our home. We had a Christmas party during the construction. There were areas inside the house where drywall was removed to bolt/attach the roof support to the house. Doug made sure the area was patched for the party, and he temporarily hung my drapes up to cover the unpainted drywall. Most people did not even notice the construction. Also, my husband expressed how convenient it is to let our dog out the back door, so they did their best to shorten the time in which our back door would not be functional.
>
> Mike really listens to the customer and wants you to be happy with his work. A perfect example....the masons left a small portion of the fireplace stone unfinished so that the electrician could run appropriate wires. When they came back to full it in we could see variation in the pattern, which made it appear patched to us. We expressed the concern to Mike. Mike, my husband and I all acknowledged that the work done was "acceptable," but we also did not want to look at the "patched pattern" for the next 25 years. He called the mason back to fix the job. I think 98% of contractors would not do this.
>
> We are so thankful that we chose the right group to create our dream outdoor patio. Every step of the way, the DiFabion team was first class. Doug was our lead carpenter. His advice and vision was awesome. Ask his advice often. Your space will be better if you do. Our electrician (forget his name) listened to what we wanted and executed it perfectly. The masonry was strong as well. Mike's son, Michael managed the day to day aspects of the project. He is super pleasant to work with.
>
> Every evening storm, we thank Mike for keeping us dry while we grill! Our children love making s'mores over the evening fire and watching outdoor movies. We have now been enjoying the living space for 4 months. No regrets. No hiccups. No surprise charges. No need to call them back for something going wrong. Choose DiFabion!
>
> PS. I hope I can add more pictures later. These do not tell the whole story!

**Comment from DiFabion Remodeling, Inc.:**

> Thank you so much for the kind words, Tamara. Your feedback is invaluable. Working with you and Michael was an absolute pleasure, and I hope the guys provided enough entertainment for the little ones! Please let us know if there's anything you need. Keep in touch!

**★★★★★ — D. Dexter, March 2017**

> Michael DiFabion and his team did an excellent job on our master bath remodel and they will be my first call for future projects.
> We did a complete renovation of our master bath, down to the studs. From initial site visit and proposal stage, Michael stood out. He was on time, curious, professional, and most of all, knowledgeable. And those traits flow down to his employees and sub contractors as well. Our designer, job foreman, and the entire team were courteous, knowledgeable and professional.
> Since actions speak louder than words, here are two examples. My home office is very near the master bath, and one day I overheard one of the sub-contractors say to a fellow worker "Be sure to clean up real well, this is a DiFabion job". That tells me that the DiFabion team sets standards for their subs, and holds them to it.
> Secondly, as with most projects, there will be hurdles, delays, unforeseen circumstances, etc. We had a few, and all were handled professionally and with superior customer service. One which is worthy of sharing is that we encountered an issue with some of the shower tiles not being installed quite right, and made the decision to have one wall of the shower stripped of the tiles and reinstalled with the correct layout. The DiFabion team and their contractors supported our decision and made things right !
> The trust I have in the DiFabion firm is very high, and they have earned my future business.

**Comment from DiFabion Remodeling, Inc.:**

> We really appreciate the kind words, David. It was a pleasure working with you and your family, and we look forward to working together in the near future!

  - Description: Creating a large space and opening up the kitchen was the main objective of this project. The client wanted a "farmhouse" style kitchen that would feature a massive island as the focal point of the new kitchen, along with feeling engaged with the rest of the house while entertaining. Removing the wall that separated the hallway and kitchen allowed the client to have their dream island they so desired. - Description: The owners of this kitchen were looking to update and brighten the space without the hassle and expense of a full tear out. The existing cabinetry was in excellent shape, but the traditional finishes and island configuration left a lot to be desired. The island itself was an awkward “angular” configuration that essentially confined the kitchen layout and created a barrier to the adjacent living room. The remedy for this was to incorporate a completely new island as the centerpiece of the kitchen…

This separation forced the underutilization of the dining space as it lacked enough connection to the kitchen. In order to enlarge and open the new footprint, the wall separating the kitchen and dining room was removed, creating a more open and inclusive new space. Furthering the claustrophobic feeling were the overwhelming architectural details- archway, columns, and three piece crown which weren’t suited to the scale of the bath. Our clients both have extensive back issues and their existing bath was doing little to curb these problems. ## Community Q&A

**Q: cabinet color?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I see that the color is stated as SW Row House Tan for the cabinets. That looks nothing like the paint colors shown. Was the color cut down? Thanks.

A: Hi ad thank you for your question. We am not sure where the Sherwin Williams colors came from TBH. These are white cabinets and unfortunately, I do not have the exact color name but the cabinets are made by Welbourne.
