**★★★★★ — Katharine Armstrong, Dec. 2016**

> Excellent eye. Good combination of practical and very imaginative. Stayed in budget guidelines. Good to work with. Project was two bathrooms in high rise building with complex work rules

**★★★★★ — Earl Lewis, Dec. 2016**

> Fantastic job. Working with us, the builder, the decorator, town, etc. our home won the "Bull Finch" award.i would hire them again.

**★★★★★ — Alan Savenor, Dec. 2016**

> We had a very particular challenge. How to renovate and expand a house considered to be part of the first Mid-Century Modern development in the U.S. We also had a firm budget, and as a builder by trade, some ideas of our own. Hickox/Williams had the imagination, sensitivity and creativity we needed to retain and respect the spirit of the home and its place in the history of the Modern movement, as well as discipline to keep the project on time and on budget. Once the contractor started, together we renovated and doubled the size of the house in nine months. Today, you would think it all of a piece, the new is so well integrated into the original.

**★★★★★ — liz Shepherd, Dec. 2016**

> We hired Hickox Williams to work on two projects: an historic property in Cambridge and a loft in Boston. Brigid Williams' work exceeded our expectations in her creativity and project management. We were delighted with our working relationship and plan to hire her again soon for a third project.

**★★★★★ — Fred Pratt, Dec. 2016**

> They are a very professional firm. They are very responsive and creative and solved problems quickly. I would certainly use them again.

**★★★★★ — Anne Aitken, Dec. 2016**

> Hickox Williams re-designed part of our 300 year old Cape house, and re-modelled our Beacon Hill apartment. They were a pleasure to work with, efficient, prompt, sensitive to cost, good listeners, ready with ideas but respectful of what we liked, and their expertise took the projects to new levels and made us glad we had hired an architect, not tried to go it alone with a contractor.

**★★★★★ — F.H. Perry Builder, Dec. 2016**

> If anyone knows architecture it is Hickox Williams. From the inside out. From the creative and the possible. From your dreams to a dreamy reality. Patrick and Brigid bring expertise to a new level; its beyond learned or studied, it's just part of their very being. They bring technical and beautiful together in one and recreate spaces with a grace and a care the matches the perfection of an art masterpiece or an aria that brings you to tears.

**★★★★★ — Robert Osteen, Dec. 2016**

> Brigid Williams solved a multitude of problems for us. We were re-doing an old house that needed totally new systems and design solutions to modernize the house and make it fit our life style. Brigid listened patiently and came up with startling, innovative and esthetically pleasing solutions to our problems. She stuck with us through the inevitable construction issues and we could not be happier with the results.

**★★★★★ — lball33, Dec. 2016**

> Hickox Williams is a superb architectural firm! Their vision and creativity are amazing. Always delightful to work with. This was our third project with them.

## Community Q&A

**Q: How is the bench attached to the wall? I love this look!** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: pauly154 - The bench is structurally suspended from the wall using three low-profile brackets resulting in the "floating" effect.

**Q: what is the wood that the bench is made of ?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Hi pauly154, the bench is made from teak. Thanks for the question!

**Q: Paint color** *(in Photo Questions)*

What is the paint on the walls?? Thank you!

A: Dear Meri Monsour,
Thank you very much for asking. It's a Farrow and Ball color - Pavilion Gray - but do try a sample before committing. Daylight creates such variety in a single color. This photo was shot in overcast midday light in the late spring. Windows face East.
I hope this helps.
With best wishes,
Brigid Williams

**Q: countertop** *(in Photo Questions)*

what is the countertop

A: Hi Laura!
This kitchen has gorgeous honed soapstone countertops with a simple eased edge.

**Q: Hi Gregg,** *(in Photo Questions)*

What is the beautiful counter top material?
Thanks very much.
Nicky

A: We're glad you like it!

**Q: Siding?** *(in Photo Questions)*

What is the siding material and finish used here? Redwood and stain? Or a semi solid or solid finish? It's very pretty. Thanks in advance!

A: Great to hear from you! The exterior cladding is clear cedar with a slightly pigmented stain. It looked beautiful when it was first completed and still looks amazing today!
