The design process, idea generation and selection of materials, finishes etc. was so much fun. Lots of options were discussed and our ideas were given respectful consideration. BeeTree has a network of industry professionals who are proficient, knowledgable and great to work with. One thing in particular that I appreciated was the gentle "redirection" when BeeTree did feel that we were not considering all options or limiting ourselves. For example, I had thought I wanted a particular type of flooring, but Katrina basically said "no, you really don't" and gave us different options to consider. Having lived in the house for 9 months now, I can say that Katrina was 100% correct and the flooring she suggested (that was installed) makes me happy every day. BeeTree wishes to get the job right and and is dedicated to pleasing the customer. A renovation is always an emotional roller coaster, with surprises, anxiety, uncertainty, excitement and the all important second guessing. We took out a 16’ wall with 4 double hung windows and replaced it with Nana Walls bi-fold doors encompassing the entire opening. This couples our beautiful outdoor kitchen addition and makes for an ideal home for entertaining. We also had a very specific time frame in that we wanted the project completed by the week before Thanksgiving. We also hired their interior designer Cindy Baker to help us choose materials and consult on the overall design. > > Getting started - Initially, after seeing the size and complexity of many of BeeTree Homes’ projects, I was concerned that our relatively small project would be fill in work for the gaps in BeeTree’s larger projects and our schedule would be controlled by other project timetables. But I never felt that was the case. BeeTree committed to the overall time frame I required and set up a project plan to meet that schedule. I realize, of course, that most plans need adjustment along the way and we had some adjustments but there was always plenty of communication and a constant eye on the promised end date. > > The working the plan – No only was Cindy Baker helping us with the design but she was also managing the progress of our project. She scheduled all the craftsmen required from the guys removing back splash and fireplace tiles to the plumber who installed the kitchen and bar sinks. The quality of their people is worth noting. One of my concerns was that while BeeTree is used to removing the entire contents of a kitchen and starting from scratch I had cabinets and a large mirror that were remaining in place. Not only did their installers do top notch work but they were very careful to not damage the areas around their work.
