> Tom has worked for me on two projects and is a superior designer and architect, particularly for French Farmhouse and Mediterranean style homes.  A genuine craftsmen, delivering wonderful hand draw designs for wrought iron, fountains, etc.  He is a good listener but appropriately willing to push back when a suggestion would adversely affect the architectural integrity.  Friendly, responsive and good value.  He took my project from concept through bid ready construction documents. He is respected by the city and design review committees. Highly recommend

> Tom Smith designed our home in Montecito about 10 years ago. In 2014 we asked Tom to design a wine room in a downstairs guest room only accessible from outside the house. He has done a splendid job designing an internal staircase (previously part of the front porch) leading to lounging area adjacent to the stunning wine room. Tom incorporated several ideas from pictures we shared with him and added some uniquely creative ideas. We couldn't be happier with the final outcome. Tom was easy to work with, listened to our thoughts, and provided many creative ideas.

> We enoy working with Tom Smith because he's the kind of creative, competent architect who doesn't at all mind listening to a client's ideas and helping to realize them. He knows the pitfalls a non-pro can fall into in home design and also helps clients avoid them. He's an ace when it comes to Building Department rules and regulations and got us through that messy maze quickly and without any problems. And he was available to us through the whole building process, right there when we had a question or wanted to make a change. > We've known Tom Smith for six years. As Realtor's we would have occasion to run into Tom at our open houses. Tom was always willing to freely share his vast knowledge of that houses' particulars. It's construction, history, condition, and different ideas on how to remodel or rebuild the house. His ideas were both artful and cost conscious. We've had Tom contribute to a number of projects around the Santa Barbara area. Most recently he was hired by our clients to work up remodel plans for a classic ocean view home. At the time of sale he efficiently shepherded the home through the city permitting process. He works quietly and diligently and has a good relationship with the different building departments on the central coast. If we have an architecture question that requires a quick and professional answer; Tom Smith is the first call we make.
