Builder in Leland, NC and a sub building on HWY 211 > I have never in my entire life met a company that all about themselves. They have individuals who work for them , who say” I am from New Jersey and you’re not? “The reaction from that statement told me that since I am from NC , I was stupid or basically nothing. The same individual would not accept any of my calls and wouldn’t complete what he promised. > They are horrible to work with. The manager we had started to get upset when we called him out on things we knew was a lie. He also in the end would not return calls and the only way he communicated was through email. Why ? He was not doing his job. He couldn’t get the fireplace working after two months of working on it himself. He said , it was delayed due to the inspector. If you lie to a person especially me, I will tell you. I spoke to the inspector and the delay was due to the manager not knowing what he was doing!!!!! He costed us two months of everything!!! > The punch list he was suppose take care of , they didn’t, we had to go back and forth to get it done with the guy from New Jersey. > The manager ( is not the guy from New Jersey) was informed of the company they hired to do the landscaping was terrible. He assured me we have a great experience. WRONG- We are contemplating redoing the yard ,because it not the way it should look. Lots of dead grass. > The side of our yard where they dug and put pipes in was holding water and we reported it. They have yet to fix it. We moved in Oct 11,2025 and they were informed of the issues prior to closing and were assured they fix them. NO they still have not. > > This was our fourth home. My husband has building experience and if he hadn’t, there is no telling how this would have turned out. > DO NOT hire TRUST they are not custom builders. They have only certain plans and those plans are all planned out with the materials and supplies in a warehouse. You are not getting quality merchandise. The unit for the tub was stored Warehouse and how it comes is what you get. If it scratched up that what you get. I told my manager , I didn’t want it before it was put in and he put it in anyway. Subs are not custom subs. The girl in the office was new but she had not clue about tile. The tile in the bathroom floor and wall was suppose to be different texture. She did not know that. > The selections were not good. I settled for what they had. I also wanted the same flooring in the bedrooms and the upstairs room instead of carpet. If I changed it , it was going to cost us 13,000.00 more and this was in the planning stage. So this was before they put the order in for the selections we made. > I called around found the flooring and had a guy I knew , who was going to put the flooring in where the carpet was going for 5,000.00 ( labor included.) Trust was making 8,000.00 more!!!! > I am so disappointed !!!! **★ — John Boyd, Sept. 2019** > The building process and selections were tedious, not customer friendly, and quality and choices was below expectations. Don’t expect same quality you see in the models. They build the customer house differently than the models. Everything worth happening was an expensive work order. Design Center was not helpful and provided mis-information often. I would shop around, many other good builders around. **★★★★★ — Bill and Donna Myatt, Feb. 2017** > I would like to praise Trusst Builder Group for the excellent construction of our St. Thomas town home in Brunswick Forest in Leland, NC. We especially have to mention the following members of the team. First Alan Brock, our building supervisor, who kept us posted with photos of progress!! Ray Caffee, who was available to answer any phone calls with answers to questions that we had. Joy Curley, who was always available especially with the answers to questions and issues even after we moved in. We were especially impressed that when we sold our home in Kitty Hawk, NC, were we able to take occupancy on the exact date that we requested to Alan Brock. Our home is well built and has special amenities that we love. In conclusion I would like to say that Shawn Horton is responsible for running a well oiled machine in Trusst Builder Group!!! The quality of the homes they build is outstanding. The attitude of the entire group is outstanding in that they listen well, take their time with their clients (me), and work very diligently to meet the needs of everyone. I was able to present my customized changes to my build team and they were helpful in suggesting changes as well so that the home was exactly what I wanted. They are flexible which was very important to me. They know the budgeting process and my financial limits and made it all work out.
