**★ — Alena Weinbrom, Sept. 2019**

> I would give them a zero if that was an option....
>
> In Summer 2018, we hired 1A Contracting to do various jobs at our house. At first, they came off as very professional, caring, and seemed like they put their clients first. But we were extremely wrong and completely taken advantage of. Dave and his team were hired to redo a 6x10 roof and leak, install a composite deck above the roof and a paver patio in our backyard. First off, we signed the contract in April, he collected 50% of the money, but didn't actually start the job until June/July (we should have known then that this is how he does business).
>
> The roof was torn apart and then put back together and redone about 3x in Summer 2018 and Spring 2019 (fast forwarded to July 2019 - WE STILL HAVE AN ACTIVE LEAK!).
>
> We had decided on the color of the composite deck, sent them photos of exactly what we wanted it to look like, and when we got home after installation, the deck pattern was installed incorrectly (1st time the deck was removed). Then, once it was re-installed, the posts for the deck railings were crooked (2nd time deck was removed). And finally - when they came back in 2019 to redo the original job, they had a completely different crew come out, remove the deck (3rd time) and put it back together terribly. They used indoor screws that will rust, the boards are all uneven and have holes in them, and they left loose screws all over the deck and our backyard for our 1 year old son to play with.
>
> The pavers patio was subcontracted and it took them weeks to finish the job - it looked great to the unprofessional eye, but little did we know that Dave and his team never paid the subcontractor and he walked off the job - Dave, however, received the full payment from us. The patio floods 3-4 inches every time it rains, the electrical work wasn't completed, and Dave ruined our entire underground sprinkler system after confirming to us that it will remain untouched.
>
> There were also a few other things that his team worked on that also needs to be re-done, by actual professional contractors. He doesn't pay his men and so there is a different crew that comes out every month. I know this for sure, because I witnessed conversations of them asking him for his money - that in of itself is completely unprofessional. The last crew he sent to my house was high on drugs - pills, weed, alcohol you name it - again they talked about this openly so I know this for sure. They let someone who has never worked on a job cut into my ceiling. They have no care for their clients or their things, they told me that Dave doesn't have the money to pay for common tools and so didn't even have a drop cloth to cover my brand new couch when they started cutting into my wall. They left my house FILTHY.
>
> 1A Contracting, Dave and his "team" are absolute con-artists. They have multiple lawsuits against them and just take your money - many times he would ask for an advance so that he could make payroll. Whatever you do, DO NOT USE 1A Contracting. They will scam you out of your money and do a horrid job on your home. We are now paying actual reputable contractors to fix everything that they have worked on in my home.
