The result was a very beautiful and functional country kitchen that has served our family well over the past 20 years. Our working relationship was very congenial and productive. **★★★★★ — pjmstar, June 2015** > I have hired Brian for several projects since 2011 to make the exterior of my home more usable and attractive. My initial contact was having him work with a contractor to navigate the municipal codes for adding a stairway from my high deck to the ground. Due to his knowledge, clarity and calm demeanor, the contractor performed, the authorities were satisfied and the job was completed. He designed a small paver landing under the deck and at the base of the steps which eliminated rebuilding and/or re-grading. A year later I asked him to design a stairway on the very steep slope at the side of my townhouse. The finished project has made such a difference in the usability of my property as well as adding lots of curb appeal. This winter Brian drew up a fence proposal for me to submit to contractors for bidding. Construction is starting very soon. I hope to work with Brian for at least one more project - finishing the pavers on the side which will made back yard access completely off grass/ground. Airy home, including a complete redesign and reconstruction of our once cramped and now gorgeous kitchen. He is not only an architect, but has the skills of an 'engineer,' so he was able to see how we could structurally "bump out" our kitchen and create a spacious eat-in breakfast nook even though other kitchen designers said "no way!" He designed the kitchen down to every detail, including the cabinets. The family room had to be designed within very tight zoning specs, and he did it! It is beautiful I have since recommended him to everyone I know who is having any work done on their home, large or small. He is capable, honest, thoughtful, creative and professional. I am the kind of person who actually reads reviews when I am considering hiring someone for a project or repair. This was an extremely complex job that required marrying new construction to old and making it look good. He did a fabulous job, Brian, in addition to being a great guy to work with, is a fantastic architect. He combines all the nuts-and-bolts basic knowledge (how much concrete to pour, how to design electrical systems, etc) with a true artist's eye for creating spaces that feel roomy and easy to be in.
