Does this rug have an odor?

A: Dear Sami, first of all we may say that cowhides are natural products and the smell could be horrible to one person and could be nice to another. So about odor y should say it is a very subjective subject. If you bought one and you don´t like the smell on it you can try to place it outside and let the air dry it... it should help a lot to remove the intense odor you describe. I´m afraid that if you found this smell on one cowhides you will continue to find it on other cowhides.
Our hides are chrome-tanned only, and we make sure that our supply-tanneries comply with all environment and safety requirements. Our main Brazilian hide volume supply tannery is ISO-9001 certified for quality and ISO 14001 certified for low environmental impact.
