Our nearly 6y/o daughter will take the room, but we are concerned about her falling out of the windows to the living room below. We are thinking about installing white plantation shutters over each of the four windows to put sturdy blockers in her way (instead of flexible blinds). (our furniture will be different in both rooms). Thoughts? Alternatives? Thanks! A: If you went with window locks and are concerned about the light getting into the bedroom consider cellular shades. These will also add a barrier for any sound that might project up from the room below. Any of these would add beauty to your space. Keep in mind what are you desiring out of the product before you purchase to make sure that you are getting the right product for your home. **Q: Window treatment help for my dining room** *(in Design Dilemma)* If I have polished brass in my dining room (chandelier), do I need to continue that look with new window treatments rods? I am thinking of replacing treatments with side panels for my windows. A: The hardware does not have to match but as previously mentioned but I would recommend you stay away from silver because of the brass. Hang your side panels the entire length of the wall to allow the room to appear larger. If you plan on removing the sheers here are a few recommendations: the first recommendation is cafe shutters and the second is a top down/bottom up product (roman shades are nice) to allow versatility with your product. Both of these options maintain the privacy in your dining room but add elegance to your beautiful room. **Q: How do I hang a curtain in a corner?** *(in Design Dilemma)* I want to hang a curtain behind my tv but the tv is on a wall with a corner next to it.I want the curtain to run all the way to the edge.How do I do this? Living space has a lot of neutrals and wood tones. wondering if I should keep w the neutrals or add some color. A: You could definitely add color to the room with window treatments. As mentioned above turquoise could be used since it would coordinate with the rug. However, you could use a fabric such as the one I've attached to pull in additional colors and add a little more texture which could complete the space. **Q: Are shutters worth it?** *(in Design Dilemma)* I'm trying to decide if it's worth the price to upgrade from blinds to shutters. I know it will look better but will it truly be an investment that will help with our home's value and resale years from now? A: Shutters are a beautiful product that will add value to your home, provide privacy, and are available in different applications. They are available in a variety of colors with hidden tilt options which increase your view.
