> This review is long due. W.A. Painting provided painting services to our house in upper Westchester in Aug 2018 and the service and work done is really subpar. Lets start reviewing the actual work - first we made it really simple by chosing just TWO plain colors to paint the whole house - ONE color per room meaning they just have to paint everything in same color - walls/ ceiling/ doors. And amazingly they even screwed this up.  One can see different strokes all thru the walls/ceiling/doors.  Had to ask them to repaint certain places again. Probably these are the only painters I have seen (and probably will see) who NEVER used a painters blue tape while painting (ex: in bathrooms to protect painting over the ceramics on bathroom walls etc, when switching from matte (walls) to satin (doors) etc.)  They just painted freehand !! My wife and I spent days to clean their mess using paint thinner.  Some places are left with one coat.  And also one closet not painted at all !  We couldn’t stay and manage as we both work and we haven’t moved into the house at that time, so it was difficult to stay and manage their work. Isn’t that the reason why we paid ($19,000) to paint the house. Every other person that has stepped foot in our house has criticized this as the worst painting job done !! More than their awful paint job the thing that actually prompted me for this review is the fact that they left a huge pile of trash - all empty paint cans/ plastic protectors sheets/paint spillage all on our driveway in front of the garage. We had to actually pay someone to come and clean up their mess. We still have big patches of paint marks on driveway that we are yet to cleanup. I should have gone with someone on Craigslist and probably had the job done for a fraction of the $19K I paid these guys and with better results.

## Community Q&A

**Q: WHY IS GRAY SO HARD?!?! help** *(in Paint)*

Can anyone recommend a “warm” gray that I should try? I have a north facing bedroom that gets a lot of light from a large bay window. I have a gray upholstered bed and a gray entertainment center. No nightstands yet but I’m leaning toward mirrored ones. I like warm, earthy, cozy colors (...I know, why did I pick gray then...) I tried mindful gray - it looks muddy on one wall and very blue on another. I tried anew gray - love the color! But a smidge too brown/beige. I also tried repose gray - it looks like ice on the wall. 

Can anyone recommend a color that is just a little less beige than anew gray before I go a buy a dozen more samples? 
(please forgive me for my color illiteracy- I don’t know the right vocab to describe color. And yes, I’ve already read every single post on the internet about these colors and it does me no good )

Here is one of my walls - from left to right above the bed - mindful, anew, repose. Existing wall color is BM Storm.

A: Cortney, I would recommend Benjamin Moore; Smoke Embers. It is a very beautiful grey. Clients love it and always receive compliments!
