**Q: Front door help!** *(in Paint)*

We recently swapped out our double door for the below pictured single door with sidelight configuration. Right now, the portion between the door and sidelights is a white, nonstainable wood, with the little piece of trim that’s unfinished nailed to the top. I don’t know how to finish off this door. The easiest option would be to paint the part between the door and sidelights white, but I don’t think I’m going to like that look. I am also considering painting the sidelights and possibly the door too, although I hate to because the stain is pretty. Any ideas? Nothing is off the table here! I’ll post additional pictures for more perspective below.

A: Hi there! You can paint the part between the door and sidelights white and also paint sidelights white, it will less emphasize that part. But I think door and sidelights look amazing now, and it would be good if you can pick up the right color for that part to match the door, like wenge and leave door as it is.

**Q: Exterior door and shutter color** *(in Paint)*

My mid 80's blue vinyl clad ranch needs a complete redo, I am well aware, but before I take on a whole house renovation project, I want to paint the front door and shutters to freshen this stuck-in-the-80's house. The shutters are presently white as was the front door and entrance until I painted them a maroon color this past year. I would like some advice and color suggestions for the front door and the shutters. The house is as plain as sin with no architectural virtue. 
The siding is actually more blue than shown in these photos which for some reason capture a grey color that is not present.

A: I would paint the front door gray and so are shutters. Why you changed the color of your door? I think white looks best here. The wood stained door will also match your exterior and complement your beautiful house.

**Q: Front door advice** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I am in need of some front door advice. I am renovating this home and replacing the front door. The siding and windows are half way done (left side is done, right side is coming soon). What style front door would be best for this house?  I am stumped. A couple
Important things: we need light (something with windows) BUT also privacy glass bc we are on a main road and home is set close to road. Door will be fiberglass. Open to wood grain stain or paint. Any guidance will be super helpful! Thanks in advance.

A: The door with matte glass is the best option. As for the color and style, the modern door will perfectly match. It will identify the style of your home. I think color shouldn't be dark I would choose sandy gold, blue or cream.

**Q: Needing help with a paint color for the front door** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I can’t seem to get a paint color I like for this front door. I have had bright turquoise & now Blue Peacock from Sherman Williams but it still seems too green or dark with this brick. Any advice or specific paint colors you think would look good?!?!

A: Door color is very beautiful itself. I think the problem is in the light. The entryway is too dark, maybe you need additional lighting fixtures, on both sides of the door. Or you can go with light blue tones, they will also look great. Additionally, I like the idea of an orange door.

**Q: Front door to brighten entry way** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We have a very dark front entry and are planning to order a new front door. Looking for opinions on what kind/color of door would brighten up this space. We have considered a medium colored "wood look" door or a painted door with the three large rectangle windows. If we went with painted, should we paint it the same color as the house (as the current one is painted), assuming with windows, it would be bright enough. Or would you suggest a color, and what color since it has to go well with the brick and the paint? The house paint color is Benjamin Moore Gunmetal, and it has a blue/gray look to it. We are keeping the 21" sidelight to the right of the door, and we don't worry much about privacy, so we'd choose clear glass panels in the door. We will also be removing the storm door that is open to show you the current door. Please ignore the landscaping. Yes the bushes must come out. That's next year's project. ;) Thank you for your help!

A: I think "wood look" door will look great here. I agree with Beth and like her ideas.
