Jill Painter, CKD, owner and designer at Bella Kitchens, LLC specializes in space planning and design for kitchen and bathroom renovations.  She grew up in South Dakota and graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design.  During her academic training, she especially excelled at the space planning and drafting aspects of interior design, which fit naturally into successful kitchen and bath design.  After graduation, she moved to Kansas City to begin a fulfilling career in the field she is passionate about.  She has 22 years of design experience and has earned the Certified Kitchen Designer distinction by the National Kitchen and Bath Association.  Her projects have been featured in magazines such as Kansas City Homes and Gardens and Kansas City Homes & Style.  She is an active member of the National Kitchen and Bath Association. 
Jill believes that the kitchen is where everyday life unfolds and as technology is expanding our world and changing our activities, the kitchen is also becoming the new living room. > When I originally started my project I was not thinking of working with an interior designer.  My contractor recommended Jill, and I am certain the project would not have been successful without her.  I was stuck on some space issues, and she solved them beautifully.  She was an invaluable resource with amazing ideas.  I was working with a very small space in an older home, and she was patient, flexible and innovative in her approach to working with me and the space.  She designed a kitchen that looked like it belonged in a show home and that was the most efficient use of space that anyone could imagine.  I loved every bit of it, from the custom cabinetry to the materials to the flooring and wall colors.  She helped me with every detail, never pushing her preferences on me, but always giving me options and sound advice based on her impeccable taste and knowledge of design.  She worked seamlessly with the contractors and vendors and accompanied me every step of the way, whether it was on an appointment to select appliances or just a quick response to a phone call with a question.  Five years later the kitchen still looks and functions like new, and I can't count the compliments I have received.  I am ready to design another kitchen with Jill!

A: Hi, the cabinet company is Smithport Cabinetry.

A: Hi, it's a custom color from the cabinet manufacturer so it's not specific to a paint brand.  It's a dark blue gray hue, I'm sorry I can't give you more information.

A: Hi!  The top of the bench is at 24" high.

A: Hi, yes I believe so as this was done by the contractor before I worked on the project.

How is this room shaped? Is it a hallway of cubby holes that opens to an office? And what are dimensions? I’m so interested in the layout of this as we are planning a room similar to this!

A: Hi!  It's one room shaped like an L so the width from the cubbies to the long wall of cabinets is 92" wide and the length of the room is 23' long and that opens up into an L (with door to garage) which is 13' wide.  Please let me know if that makes sense and answers your question.

A: Hi!  The top of the bench is at 24" high and the drawers are 8" tall.
