She can do top-drawer expensive and cheap and chic, too. Highest quality work, these are not only architects and interior designers but also real people who know that you will need to live and fuction in the beautiful spaces they help you create. They are professional, flexible, and knowledgeable. They understood our style and look, and balanced that with the needs of the space. Sophie assisted us with decorating and improving our main level -- entryway, dining room, kitchen, and main living area -- by providing minor changes, furniture, and paint. Sophie's team did a lot of research into various design solutions for our exposed entryway/mudroom area from the garage. The rustic wooden doors they found are beautiful and add a lot of personality to the house. Sophie drew from our backgrounds when applying colors (golds and oranges as I am from India) to help warm the home. She was also great with using items we already had and building around them -- for example, we installed large glass doors over an opening in our master bedroom and she drew the paint color from the glass. Midway through our main level project, we tasked Sophie with redesigning the master bath vanity area. Sophie took on this additional project without complaint and redesigned the area to have increased lighting, storage, and better flow. > > Overall, I am extremely pleased with the work done by ColePrevost and enthusiastically recommend them to all of our friends that inquire about designers. Anyone that comes to our home comments on how beautiful and cohesive it is. We will also use them again in the future on other projects. > > My only piece of constructive feedback I would give about them is the invoicing and billing process. Sometimes we got invoices, but we weren't sure what they were for, or we would make a large lump sum payment and not know what it went towards. My Husband had to do a lot of analysis to figure out what we owed, when we owed it, and what our payments had paid for. I hired them in 2003 to renovate a 2,200 sq ft condo in Washington, DC. I wanted a sleek, contemporary look that incorporated this Beaux Arts Building’s large, double-hung windows and trim. I was thrilled with the results, including the new, open configuration, the kitchen, lighting, and the colors. It is spectacular. I hired ColePrevost again in 2010 to transform a 450 sq ft co-op in Washington, DC, into a contemporary, Zen-like retreat. Reconfigured to provide a discrete alcove for the bed and a new kitchen, and furnished in neutral grays and creams with soft, contemporary furniture, it is a stunning and inviting sanctuary in the middle of bustling Adams Morgan. Projects included a total bar renovation, a media center, lighting and paint upgrades, color schemes, furniture and rug purchases, and bathroom renovations to name a few. And even though ColePrevost is known for a more modern aesthetic, our home is arts and crafts, and designer Sophie Prevost was just as comfortable doing a more traditional style. Sophie listened to our concerns, needs and wishes and incorporated our input into a design that turned out fantastic! There has to be trust between owner and designer, and I never flinched with Sophie's recommendations. She possessed the perfect combination of the highest level of competency and an innate sense of artistic style and she delivered that "wow" factor in our home. Everything she did turned out top-notch.
