The installer damaged my cabinets, refrigerator, base trim, walls and left a big stain on my patio. When I asked what they were going to do about it, they lied about any damage they did and said they were not paying for anything. Jeff Curry owner sent me a final bill and he charged me more than what he quoted when I picked up the samples from his store. I asked him why it was more and he said because of the distance to where I lived. He knew where I lived because I asked if he installed in my city and he said yes. I filed complaints against him for damages and he filed a lien against my property. I mailed him a check the same day and the lien has not been removed. It will cost me $1400 to replace my refrigerator and $1400 to have all my trim repaired, caulked and painted. I have not gotten a bid for patio. I don’t understand how businesses can rip off senior citizens and get away with it. Do not hire this company or you will be paying a lot more when they are done. **Comment from ESL Hardwood Floors:** > Dear Terri Chalifoux, > > In response to your complaints, we did not damage your cabinets, we did not damage your refrigerator, we did not damage your walls. We damaged a one foot section of base trim that we have offered numerous times to repair. > > We do not understand the staining on your back patio that you say is due to sawdust that got wet. We brought over a pressure washer and removed 90% of the stain. However, your patio is covered, how did it get wet? You have the same stain on your front driveway. Seems to me it is caused by something other than sawdust. > > We made numerous attempts to make right the wrongs you feel we have caused. None of our offers were enough for you. Your continued efforts to extort money from us to remodel your home and purchase a new refrigerator will continue to go unanswered. The beautiful wood that they installed in my home is so poorly finished that I must hire someone else to refinish it. It looks like it was sanded by a complete ameteur. It is my understanding that another contractor came in and broke a chandelier, which damaged your floor. Why you would allow that contractor, who is not a flooring contractor, to refinish your floor, is something I will not be able to understand. A: Thank you for your question. This particular floor is an Engineered Vertical Grain Carbonized Bamboo. We have had great success in the Boise area with the bamboo flooring that we sell. We would recommend the engineered over the solid as it is more stable in our environment. You need to make sure you purchase a good quality bamboo flooring such as The Allwood Brand.
