Fixtures with down rods typically are not good on a sloped ceiling. Chains are very flexible. There are some fixtures that allow for some flexibility, but if it doesn't say so in the description, I wouldn't think it is. **Q: Current Kitchen** *(in Design Dilemma)* Would like to change cabinet color to work with honey oak trim and floors/add quartz counter/backsplash and reconfigure island A: Painting trim is much easier than painting a cabinet. Cabinets generally have a special protective polyurethane coat on them (at least our cabinet lines do). Doing a different colored island would be a lot less expensive than re-doing the whole kitchen! Also, new counter tops would make a huge impact! **Q: What room is this for?** *(in Photo Questions)* This looks like it could be for a library or nice storage area. A: This is the other half of the Butler Pantry... its just gorgeous! **Q: Laminate Counter top decision -- HELP!** *(in Design Dilemma)* We have been going back and forth for 2 weeks and we aren't making progress. Neither of us have an eye for designing or seeing the big picture. I've been waiting for many years to do this ugly kitchen over (pumpkin orange counter, shellac cabinets) so I need to get it right and I want it to look clean, bright, and inviting. We need help! Which counter top would you pick for a small, low ceiling kitchen (76"). We are installing white cabinets and SS appliances and probably a HW floor. Any help, directions, advice would be so appreciated. CambriaUSA, Caesarstone, Silestone, Vicostone all have colors very similar!! Very pretty combination! **Q: Kitchen redo** *(in Design Dilemma)* Trying to decide whether to get rid of Spanish tile on countertop. Paint cabinets white? Floors will be light oak. A: If you are painting cabinets yourself, please make sure to read up on how to do it properly so that the oils of the stain & wood don't seep thru the paint and ruin your work. If you plan to have them 'refaced' please note that 60% of the price of cabinets are in the door and companies that sell refacing to customers aren't necessarily going to be saving you any money.
