Our beach condo was completely remodeled after we purchased it from my parents just prior to Hurricane Ian. A few weeks from completion, it was destroyed in the hurricane. Before, during and after the hurricane, Ruby and Lynn were kind, thoughtful, creative and always a phone call away. They advocated for us during our condo building rebuild and provided good insight into how the Island was operating. Our kitchen remodel is beautiful. Everyone who walks in loves the bright, open layout we created. The bathrooms are jewel boxes and the guest room is darling with custom built bunks. If I sent a picture of something I liked to Lynn, the answer was always, "Yes, we can do that." It has been three years of working together and we have not come across a single worker who is not professional and highly skilled. We have gained good friends in the process and feel so grateful we stumbled upon them on a walk one morning. Well, we found both with Interiors Unlimited. We couldn't be happier with the Interiors team and the finished project. We first met with Ruby and Les and went over what we were looking to do. They helped us finalize building our plans. Ruby worked with us over the coarse of a few weeks to finalize our design, colors, materials and finishes. She was able to blend what we were thinking about with great ideas of her own. When it came time build, Caio and his team did a great job. From a total remodel of the master bath from top to bottom to gutting the kitchen. They removed a wall, refinished some of existing cabinets and adding new ones. They installed a new island, appliances, countertops, backsplash, plumbing and electrical. All of the fits and finishes from the tile to counter tops, cabinets to wood work and paint and hardware turned out wonderful. Truly exceptional craftsmanship! Overall from to start to finish it was an enjoyable experience. There were many other problems, too many to name. **Comment from Interiors Unlimited:** > Interiors Unlimited is a State Licensed Building Contractor and we were hired the Summer of 2018 to remodel a master bathroom and bedroom for Mr Thomas, after he had previously hired an unlicensed contractor who had left his home in disarray and performed work not to Code. It is our understanding that Mr Thomas was left by this previous 'contractor' after some acrimony between them. > > After receiving Mr Thomas's signed contract and good faith deposit for the work quoted, we obtained a Residential Remodel Permit, issued by the Town of Fort Myers Beach. All aspects of this remodel were inspected and passed by the building officials, both during the project and on completion, signifying all work had been performed correctly and to current building code. This includes individual inspections for plumbing, electrical and framing work. > > Mr Thomas, the homeowner, insisted on supplying his own shower floor tile for his bathroom project from an online vendor "www.marbleonline.com". The website Mr Thomas purchased this marble mosaic from does not specify it is suitable for shower floors. Our company stated multiple times that we do not recommend ordering from any vendors other than our own, as we cannot warranty materials from outside sources. This advice was not taken, and the shower floor was installed after being purchased by the client directly. The entire job was completed, inspected and the client was invoiced. All permits were finaled. > > Mr Thomas then came into our office and argued about the price of items that had already been agreed upon when signing a contract and threatened to not pay. In order to get paid and keep a decent relationship, we deducted over $800 from his bill and received final payment. Mr Thomas stated at this time that all work had been completed to his satisfaction and we issued a Release of Lien to him. > > Weeks after the job was complete and paid for, we received an email from Mr Thomas stating the shower floor tile that he had supplied had a defect in color. Mr Thomas sent us a picture of the tile showing some of the hexagon mosaic pieces were a lighter shade than others. The website he ordered from states on the product page "Natural Beauty, Natural stone does vary in pattern and color, so each piece will be unique, which is part of what makes natural stone such a beautiful and interesting material. The picture is representative of one piece of stone and your product may look different", so these variations must not be uncommon. > > We responded to Mr Thomas in an email asking if the shower floor tile was cracked in any areas or felt loose. These would be signs of defective installation and we would expedite our return to rectify this. He declined to reply. As these questions were not answered by the customer and instead he replied threatening legal action against us, we ceased communication. > > If this had been an installation issue, or an issue with a product that we supplied, we would gladly return to fix our work. I was thinking it would be handy as you get older to be able to sit if you need to, plus I want to be able to put my foot up when shaving. My master bathroom shower is 72 x 68". it's just a walk in with no shower door. when you walk into the opening the shower head is on the wall to the left. could I put a bench in here without it being in the way and if so, where would you suggest and then where would I put the niche for shampoo to be handy next to the bench and so I wouldn't be sitting too close to the shower head while I'm shaving. so many things to consider in just one decision. I'm thankful you guys are there. A: You could do a corner seat in the right hand corner when walking in. This would be a simple addition at this point and will not take up much space at all.
