I started in Interior Design in 1993, though I prefer the terms Design Consulting or Room Therapy. Many “designers” are attempting to brand themselves and are thereby vested in selling you a look that fits that brand. As a Design Consultant, I prefer a process that brings about a room that reflects you and your family’s sense of style while accommodating your lifestyle. To do this I’ll really listen to what you want, so be prepared to spill it all to create your dream room without making mistakes, while staying within your budget.

As a Room Psychologist, I can help when there are differing opinions. Everyone who lives in the room can and should have input, as a mediator I can help you move past the differences and move toward your new room. Which brings me to another point; your friends and extended family can have opinions, but as your Room Psychologist, I urge you to create the room that you want! If you think a leaf green and white family room would be a cheerful place to hang with the kids, then go for it, even if your decorina sister-in-law thinks you’re making a mistake not using neutrals. Our jobs and the world outside our homes are stressful enough, so don’t settle for anything less than what makes you blissful, gleeful, or just extraordinarily calm and rejuvenated in your own home.

Besides interior design, I have worked in fashion design, visual merchandising, and management, which means I can create beautiful environments and select gorgeous fabrics while managing time, people and expenses, so let me put that experience to work for you to create your dream room.

I have a bedroom with all antique burr walnut inlaid furniture and need a colour that wont clash

A: This color is Behr's Parachute Silk.  Warm neutrals look great with antique walnut.  I would avoid taupe that have a pink or purple under tone.
