We manufactured only the door, so we are not sure of the shingle color of the home. Good luck! **Q: What color is the siding? Is it maibec?** *(in Photo Questions)* A: Thank you for your interest! However, we did not partake in the siding selection of the home, only the door! **Q: Door color** *(in Photo Questions)* What is the color of the door? Is it factory finish? What is the glass name? How wide are the entry columns? How wide is the door and each side light. I love this look and need to place an order soon. A: This particular door is painted white, but was not factory finished at Upstate Door. We do offer fine finishing solutions on all doors that we produce, so we'd be happy to finish your door to ensure durability. The glass is clear and it has a muntin design that utilizes a NURBS programming technique where the muntins are cut out of one piece of material on our CNC router. The spacer grilles withing the glass also follow the same design. We do not have exact specifications on this door, but an educated guess would be that it is about 42" wide and most likely 80" or 84" tall, with two 20" wide sidelights. We did not construct the entry columns, but a best guess would be that the architect intended to match them to the sidelights, so we think they would be about 20" wide as well. A: Good question! The existing door style is consistent with the period of the house. Doors with several high windows on a diagonal were commonly installed in homes in the 50's and 60's. Since the windows are white, you may be able to achieve a more consistent look by painting the door white to match, assuming it is in good condition. Or you could replace the door with a simple vertical design with a large window (similar to the one pictured below, but without muntins) to coordinate with the bay window. We'd replace the storm door with a simple white door that complements the front door. **Q: Thoughts on adding a sliding door on this wall** *(in Design Dilemma)* This is the kitchen - we are thinking about adding a 6 ft slider where the existing door is and building a patio off of it in the spring. This is now the side door. The main entrance to the house would be the front door. The house is a cape. A: Nice idea Amanda and a slider or french doors would bring lots of light into the kitchen.
