> A Nightmare Experience – Avoid This Company at All Costs
>
> Building our log home with Katahdin has been one of the worst decisions we’ve ever made. What should have been an exciting and rewarding process turned into a drawn-out ordeal filled with unprofessionalism, mismanagement, and outright negligence. If you’re considering this company for your dream home, I urge you to think twice.
>
> 1\. Lack of Transparency
> The project was plagued by a lack of communication and transparency. Critical details were either omitted or glossed over, leaving us constantly chasing answers and clarity while major problems mounted.
>
> 2\. Questionable Financial Practices
> There were significant issues with how the project was managed financially. Costs ballooned well beyond expectations by Katahdin's recommended builder, with little to no explanation or accountability. This resulted in a substantial financial burden and left me questioning how my money was being used.
>
> 3\. Extensive Delays
> What was supposed to be a smooth process quickly devolved into endless delays and broken promises. Timelines were rarely met, and there was a noticeable lack of urgency to get the project back on track.
>
> 4\. Substandard Workmanship
> The quality of work was far below acceptable standards. From structural concerns to finishing details, it was clear that corners were cut throughout the process. I am now left with a home that requires extensive repairs and additional costs to make it safe and functional.
>
> 5\. No Resolution or Accountability
> Despite numerous attempts to resolve these issues, I was met with indifference and a refusal to take responsibility. The company has shown no interest in making things right, leaving us frustrated and disillusioned.
>
> 6\. A Warning to Others
> This company may promise a high-quality, custom-built log home, but my experience was the exact opposite. From beginning to end, it was a nightmare filled with stress, financial loss, and disappointment. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, look elsewhere.
>
> Building a home is one of the biggest investments you’ll make—don’t risk it with a company that cannot deliver on its promises or treat its customers with honesty and respect.

**★★★★★ — Jim Logeman, July 2017**

> After extensive research in log home companies, I decided on Katahdin Cedar Log Homes. They had me out for a visit of their facility in Maine, and I couldn't have been more impressed by how professional everybody was. It's a very 'Green' company...in fact they use every speck of sawdust from their trees! They use only the best (Northern white cedars)...which will hold up over time with minimal shrinkage, warpage, mold, mildew, or insect damage...like you see with Pine, or other types of wood!
> I've been impressed from start to finish, and very happy that I chose Katahdin!
> You will be too!

> Never hired as cost of project kept changing after deposit presented. have yet to refund money despite no work done on there part.Court required. Their products look nice- make sure you can afford to lose down payment

> My husband and I recently built a modified Sebec plan. We were really satisfied with the entire process from our initial meeting with the Katahdin team at a log home seminar thru out the entire building process. The design team worked closely with us to personalize the Sebec plan to match our lifestyle. The log package was shipped with generous supporting building materials to protect against falling short and the log labeling system made it easy for our builder to quickly progress. The Katahdin recommended dealer and builder were equally experienced, professional, and pleasurable to work with. Based on our personal experience, we would highly recommend Katahdin Cedar Log Homes as your log home provider.

**★★★★★ — Big Twig Homes, April 2014**

> We have been doing business with Katahdin cedar log homes since 2004. Katahdin cedar log homes, is a green company and family owned and operated. They are easy to work with and have the best log home packages in the industry. If you are looking for a quality log home, contact Katahdin cedar log homes.

> My husband and I chose Katahdin Cedar Log Homes because we were attracted to the species of log (cedar) used for the exterior walls, sustainable harvest practices, and a design for a great room (A frame) and ceiling joists using exposed spruce purlins. An added bonus was that we also found a floor plan in Katahdin's catalog that suited our needs, which eliminated the need for an architect. Additionally we liked the various purchase packages that allowed us to choose which materials we would buy from Katahdin and which we could buy on our own with the assistance of our builder. Our local Katahdin Representative was instrumental in assisting us with the entire process from design to construction. Katahdin's design and engineering team worked with our builder , who never built a log home before, in understanding the entire process. We have been in our home for ten years and enjoy the unique experience living in a log home provides to our family. We were happy with both the service and product from Katahdin Cedar Log Homes

> We formed a partnership with our Katahdin Cedar Log Home dealer/builder, Webb & Webb Construction back in 2004. We discovered just how easy and fun designing and building a log home could be when you can work with a premier log home company. They took our Dream and turned it into our Reality.
>
> We, and all who have visited our log home, are amazed at the custom workmanship that makes our log home stand out as a welcoming retreat filled with an atmosphere of peace and awe. Our builders’ design expertise and attention to detail have provided us with an “inside view” that rivals the perfection of God’s wooded creation outside our windows.
