Greey\|Pickett is a professional firm comprised of landscape architects, urban planners, artist and talented production staff. Greey\|Pickett was formed in 1997 by Russell Greey and Wendell Pickett. A true collaborator who enjoys listening as much as creating, Russ Greey has over 30 years of national and international experience designing world class landscape architectural projects for clients across the globe. He approaches any project, large or small, by gathering insight from clients and inspiration from nature to bring outstanding land designs to life. For Russ, landscape architecture is not just a business – it’s an opportunity to do what he loves best: bring top-notch expertise to clients, forge a collaborative working relationship and provide outstanding design solutions. We at Greey\|Pickett are resourceful problem-solvers operating at lofty levels. After all, our clients have much at stake and face tremendous risk; almost every stage of our work is considered a crucial juncture and mistakes aren’t in the business plan.

Today, we have nearly 20 employees. All of which are “thinkers” first, with an established track record supported by dozens of successful featured projects created over decades. Each project is an experience that solves unique problems, provides specific solutions and pushes the boundaries of the typical expectations from planners and landscape architects. Unlike some of our colleagues, Greey\|Pickett survived the economic downturn and came out a smarter, more unified, thriving organization.

When you work with Greey\|Pickett you can rest assured that you are also being teamed up with the most knowledgeable and well-respected subcontractors in the business. Our long-standing relationships with experts in their field provide a collaborative effort with the leading landscape maintenance companies and interior plant solutions putting Greey\|Pickett above the rest.

Greey\|Pickett projects are based on sustainable landscape practices, from drought tolerant energy efficient directives. We implement LEED Green Guidelines for Sustainable Landscapes as a basis for all of our designs. We believe we are stewards of the land and our practices embrace this philosophy.

> As a former client of this firm I would strongly suggest that they not be hired for your landscape design.

**★★★★★ — Clint Miller Architect, Dec. 2020**

> Discovering Greey/Pickett Landscape Architects was a very fine find. I think that landscape architecture is everything when it comes to a great project and the finished outcome. To that end, thoughtful landscape design can up the game for architecture. Meaning that architecture that does not live up to its potential, can yet become very compelling with landscaping. Russ Greey and the staff consistently live up to this calling.

> Russ has designed multiple residential yards for me over the past 20 years. They varied in type and size and included some extensive hardscape in some. They have all been beautiful and resulted in many neighbors’ compliments and inquiries. But most important, whenever I had the slightest issue with an installer from other companies when implementing his plans, Russ was there to back me up and help resolve the issue. I can’t recommend him highly enough.

**Comment from Greey Pickett:**

> Thank you for your kind words. We revel in each outdoor space and hope you continue to enjoy.

**★★★★★ — Margo Walter, Oct. 2020**

> Russ Greey designed a unique, almost zen desert enclave, which is amazing. But even more so because he transformed a drab, featureless, flat landscape into this paradise. He redesigned the surface drainage, creating attractive swales required for flood prevention. He created focal points with marvelous statement pots, raised planters and monumental rocks. He chose native plants that thrive years later. Makes me wish I had another AZ retreat to plan!

**Comment from Greey Pickett:**

> We enjoyed our time working with you to design your desert paradise! Thank you for your review.

> I was made aware of Greey Pickett's work when I saw some landscape remodeling being done on some homes in Paradise Valley near Camelback Mountain. What struck me most was that the landscaping was in such harmony with the surrounding natural beauty of the desert. I made an appointment to meet with Russ Greey and, because I wasn't quite sure what I wanted, I just described to him the feeling I wanted to have when I go into my back yard. Russ walked my yard with me and ideas started coming to him right away. He described his vision and it all sounded so wonderful. During the next few months, I watched the transformation of my tired back yard into something entirely amazing, even more beautiful than I had anticipated. I LOVE my back yard now - so much, in fact, that I had Russ design my front courtyard and my guest courtyard as well. The only drawback is that now I have trouble deciding which part of the yard I like best - it has turned out all so beautifully. I had a great experience working with Russ and his team and have already referred Russ to a good friend of mine for her landscape remodeling needs.

**Comment from Greey Pickett:**

> We are thrilled you are enjoying all your spaces around your home. Russ and his team take joy in hearing that we could bring your visions to life.

> Greey Pickett redid the landscaping for my home in Paradise Valley. They did an amazing job of creating the landscape that I wanted. We worked primarily with Clayton Miller who is really a joy to work with. He has a terrific eye. I think that he knows what you want before you do.
> Trust them.

**Comment from Greey Pickett:**

> We appreciate your kind words. Thank you for the opportunity to work together designing the landscape at your home. We are happy you enjoyed the experience.

> After completing my new home in N Scottsdale approx 4 years ago, the initial landscape design and plant material (designed and installed by different landscape architect) needed a makeover. It was "flat" and not commensurate with the design of my home and was way below the potential of what and how the landscape should interact with indoor/outdoor living in the Sonoran desert. There were great parts of my existing landscape - trees, irrigated pots, hardscape, fountains and pool, but many existing plantings were the wrong species based on sun and shade, scale and color; and moreover, the "sense of arrival" to my home was missing "drama." Russ and his team took an inventory of existing, prepared a detailed enhancement plan and cost proposal. The outcome was AMAZING and EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS! The landscape today still performs fantastic and looks even better as the plantings are maturing and blooming.

**Comment from Greey Pickett:**

> Thank you for the kind words. Your home was such a fun project and we sincerely thank you for the opportunity to work on your yard!

Settled into an upper Sonoran site in North Scottsdale’s Whisper Rock Estates development, the residence embraces a design influenced by the Craftsman movement of the early 1900s, as well as later Southern California rambling ranch homes. Both movements are sympathetically reinterpreted to harmonize with the beauty of Whisper Rocks Estates and the Sonoran deser…

  - Description: The philosophy behind this midcentury modern home of a valley architect was simple: in the desert, less is more. Discovering that the brick wall ruins of a previous residence were constructed of reclaimed handmade sand mold bricks from the early 1900’s was truly the catalyst of embracing the natural design of this project. Just as the 2,150 square foot home doesn’t impose grandeur on this hidden Carefree lot, the landscape architecture truly allows the wild Arizona desert to shine in its natural…
