We purchased an older house and because it had knob and tube wiring the insurance company wouldn't insure the house until that was replaced. Instead of trying to fix it piecemeal we decided to take down all walls and ceilings and rewire. This allowed us to also fix some of the AC duct work that had been routed in closets and living space because they didn't want to open up walls. > > Shortly into the project we also decided to gut and renovate the kitchen.
