Some are rated higher at 35 mph. Most every brand is powered with a Somfy motor. Somfy offers a wireless wind sensor. A: The pergola top opens and closes. It was installed with an 1/8" pitch to shed rain water. The louvers have a small 1/4" deep well that captures water. It can be partially open to allow the escape of hot air and humidity, but still protecting your space from light rains. When closed completely it protects space from medium rains. Some customers with a 1/4" pitch/fall report staying dry during heavy rainfall. Material is extruded aluminum and powder coated. The finish will last a lifetime.
